Yeah but at the end of the day he wanted to go because we couldn't guarantee him anything other than a bit part this season. We do badly miss his height in defence though.

Also, Hyypia's lack of pace wasn't critical, and he stepped up to make interceptions rather than last ditch tackles. Unfortunately the same can't be said for Carragher. While not quick, Carragher has always had that bit of sharpness for 'last ditch lunges', which is more physically based than Hyypia's style ever was.

We gave up so many goals from set pieces in which not always the CB's fault. But Carra and Srktel are not a good mix as both played similarly. So, they got mixed up quite a bit in markings. Just hope Rafa realize that we don't have the people for Zonal marking. He should in turn try to Man mark and see how it goes. To the players, man marking is more easy to do as everyone knows who their assignment is. But Zonal marking just confuses our players. This could be easily spotted in games when we were scored against. They all look around and no one has any idea on who fault was it.

If we'd tried man marking Cole for example, he would have scored anyway because our two best defenders were essentially man marking him anyway.

I'm not talking in particular any specific goal as it is impossible not to concede any. Just talking about in general. Even if Cole was to score, it was fine but at least we could have avoided other goals. In man marking, at least someone is on to somebody. In Zonal marking, our player may not be suitable for it as certainly it looks like they don't get it as you can see many of the goals scored against us were uncontested. YOu can't prevent them all but I'm saying man marking is easier for our player to understand and no harm trying it as our players certainly looked confused about Zonal marking. I know Rafa is stubborn but hope he realized that Zonal marking is not the best system for us at the moment.

Not true mate, It was Carra who dealt with Drogba that night with Riise supporting every time they put the ball in on the diagonal, Agger played spare for pretty much the whole game. It was the best live defensive performance i've ever seen from a Centre-Half. Unfortunately for Carra, that is the form we hope and need him to reclaim for the rest of this season.

If the ball comes anywhere near you, clear it.

Not that hard to understand is it?

when their all fit we dont have a problem just seems at the moment agger is never fit and skrtel is always injured or coming back from one, plus the massive dip in form of carra and it adds up

i think we should buy a top class centre back asap because like i said the ones we have are all good imo but they seem to be injury prone

cant wait for agger to return and hopefully he can stay fit because hes world class imo, seems people have forgotten just how good he is
