I wast just flicking around the news channels and went to sky news to see what is happening. While bbc news is heading with the problem of funding third level education, sky news is leading with some girl judging a dance show - in depth discussion.

You are retarded if you think this is news. It is ridiculous and insulting to the intelligence of the public. Who cares about some silly dance show? it is number 1 news story.

Its the public favour at the moment - 20 odd million tune into to watch these celeb or reality shows so any news on them will get 20 odd million viewers tuning in

surely the news isn't just a t.v programme to get ratings and anyway, how stupid are people who watch this type of news?

there are issues today regarding third level fees, party conferences, afghanastan, the economy etc

don't people care about the real news?

Gotta agree with Niall...such TV shows are vacuous nonsense. And people who talk about them, or buy magazines 'cos there are full page articles about people in them, should all be taken to a field and bombed !!

Dont watch them myself tbh - telly is for sport in my eyes :D

But the main thing these days is viewing figures and esp for sky where the more viewers the better as it helps brings in more money via adverts
