'Course what'll happen now is that when the Mancs deal with AIG runs out at the end of the season, they'll sign a new one with someone else which will "dwarf" the deal we've just signed (well it'll be a bit bigger anyway). That'll give the press plenty of opportunity to crow about their commercial superiority, and also plenty of chance for some of us on here an opportunity to throw a few "fecking Purslow"s in which seemingly never ceases to raise the temperature a bit.

they've already signed the deal for post AIG - with Aon. And I think its the same as ours... £80m for 4 years

Yes indeed , keep up michael .I know it must be hard getting a radio signal out there with all them mountains and sheep and what not.

There's no doubting i's a very good deal ,so Purslow and Ayre must be given alot of credit for it . The doubts start with our owners track record and where the money will go . We will only tell in time i suppose. Can't help the doubts though.

Yeah, I read his interview in the echo yesterday (Purslow's echo interview) and he did come across ok.
Sadly though twit 'n tw@t have taught me to be cautious about trusting anyone in these situations purely based on what they say and one or two things Purslow said DID make me think he's just a puppet for the yanks.

Perfect example here
“I am incredibly proud and honoured to be now the custodian of the football club that my grandparents and my dad and I have been fans of.

Full article here.

???  :suspect:  where have we heard that before.

It is good to see though that he and Rafa are getting on (at the moment  :D ) but as far as I'm concerned he has to earn our trust and that ain't gonna come easy.

i think a record sponsorship deal and getting 30m+ for a player who wanted to leave , are definitely ticks against his name so far...

So far are the key words there for me. I couldn't agree more that so far he's doing a very good job, but we said the same about the yanks.
The first six months we were all laughin cos they were nothing like the Glazers but that soon changed and because of that I've learn't to be a lot more cautious before giving any of these guys the thumbs up.

Again though credit to him, so far. He's delivered (along with Ian Ayre) the equal biggest sponsorship deal in football.
Don't know how much he had to do with the Alonso deal i.e. agreeing to the £30m as Rafa is supposed to have last say on that but he wasn't bullied by Madrids goons either way.

Now if he can get rid of twit 'n tw@t then he'll be elevated to god like status among the fans no doubt.  :D

Just imagine if we had Purslow when John Barnes went through his rapping phase, they'd of been record contracts flying everywhere.
