im sure there are more than two people here who still respect GH for what he did as LFC manager.I would find it hard to believe though you could find two people who believe he should still be Liverpool manager...............anyone? anyone at all?            :D

I don't believe he should stiill be Liverpool manager greenred. You mistake my respect and admiration for GH as blind allegiance. I happen to agree it was the right decision to let him go. What i don't appreciate are disparaging and ill informed comments about a former servant of Liverpool football club  :glare:

He's talking about someone else and anyway whoever he is talking about he ought not to use such provocative language  ???

So answer my previous post greenred.

What i want to know is how come respect and admiration for GH is misconstrued into believing he should never have left / ???

You tell me Dalglish.A guy who spent several years at anfield, won the charity shield(among others, but he included it amongst his achievments)and left a rich, world class club at its lowest ebb in fifty years.I dont know, what do you think?

I disagree with your comments. He also won the UEFA Cup, FA CUP, League cup (Twice) and finished 2nd with more pts than any other team who have finished second. Add to that a quarter final place in the CL , a resurgence of discipline within the club and an increase in expectation within a club that was in serious decline when he joined.

OK , your not a fan of GH BUT DON'T ALTER HIS RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENTS TO SUIT YOUR OPINION !

Left the club at its lowest ebb  ????

Do you remember the 90s stuck between the glorious 80s and 00s.

and another thing Greenred I'll bet you jumped up anddown with delight when we beat the manc to win the charity shield.

Bob Paisley said about the charity shield "Some people say it's an easy tophy to win but its' damned difficult to qualify for it|" :D

I hope im not Dalglish.Houllier won nothing at Anfield that will be truly remembered.Your a similar age to me,we have memories of different things.European cups, english titles.Im unforgiving when it comes to GH.We won nothing, nothing of any real importance.I was in in cardiff twice for the the cups but they mean nothing compared to the premiership.

Your point about the triumphs in the European Cup finals is a valid one in terms of comparison but you can't seriously tell me that winning the FA Cup , League cup (once against the Mancs) and the Uefa cup meant nothing ? :O

The weight of expectation than has now fell on Benitez I presume and if he doesn't achieve the title and/or the CL then he wil be deemed as a failure ? Thats harsh in the extreme.

The quest for the Prem has become for many fans an obsession. Supporting this great club is a passion for me not just for the achievements of the past but the hopes for the future. Every club in English football are still playing catch up in terms of honours won compared to Liverpool but trashing former managers cos they came closer than the vast majority of other teams and won a considerable amnount of honours on the way is disrespectful in my opinion.

Your response would indicate that you wouldn't support this club if we fail to win the prem/CL. Thats not support, thats conditional allegiance and theres a world of difference ???
