Benayoun made a MASSIVE impact, why he has not got a place in the starting 11 each week is beyond me.

I thought Carra was quite destructive today, injured himself and Skrtel even though he had a look and then still decided to jump. That fecked our whole day up right there. And he gave away the foul for their 2nd goal and the header came from his area of the zone. Plus we had to waste a sub on taking Skrtel off.

Doubt it mate. The season has started now. If we were going to bring in anyone notable we would have done it already. We will probably sign a new keeper.

His my hero.  Aqualani isnt enough.  We need at least 2 more players.

we need David Silva, frank ribery, 1 CB and 1 striker to add to our current team ...

Well Red wrote:I'm about ready to concede the title. Fergie is simply not going to allow The Man United Machine to miss out on the chance of overtaking us in terms of league titles. On top of that we're hideously lightweight in midfield. Lucas isn't a bad player but he wouldn't look out of his depth at Newcastle. Voronin isn't good enough to grace a League 2 side. Johnson isn't a great defender, Carragher isn't the player he used to be, and our club has no :censored: money to really push on and win the league. We're literally 2 or 3 quality players away from winning this fucking league title we've been craving so long, but haven't got enough money to get the Silva + first team centre back + first team central midfielder.

Losing at Spurs last season cost us the league. Losing at Spurs today has cost us the league.[B]

I'm pretty inconsolable right now. I walked out of that game with 20 minutes to go, and all I can think is that I could really do with a season off from football right not. I'm not interested in the England team or the World Cup, all I care about is winning the league but we're forever in the shadow of this sodding Manchester United behemoth which seems to never fade.

you think we need to buy a 1st team CM? You do know that we bought Aquilani right?

We were lucky not to lose by more, Spurs could have had 4 today.
We didn't look match sharp, probably due to our injuries preseason.

But something needs to be done about our early season form.
Last season we played cr@p and more or less got away with it.
This season it may cost us .

you wouldn't have Reina as MOTM, it would have been embarrassing without him.

This was always going to be a tough test. I think now the team will wake up.

Oh and how bad was Babel today? I was really hoping he would have improved over the summer.

Agreed. We could have let in 4 had it not been for him.

Why didn't Rafa play Benayoun in the first place? Babel was a complete waste of space on the left! The next Henry my foot! We looked 10 times more dangerous when Benni came in. Babel contributed NOTHING!!! Our defence was in shambles and both Carra and Skrtel were having a field day giving away free kicks in dangerous positions. Both goals from Spurs were a result of 2 of these free kicks. We gotto improve in our next game or I wun be surprised if we lose to Stoke.

When the idiots keep maintaining that the pre-season games mean nothing....well what does this show ? we were warned in the pre-season games....

Benitez had time to repair the damage...but for some reason Benitez was more interested in talking about alonso...mancity...whatever..
