Lucas was alright today, he is having a good game, nothing is coming to the feet of torres, the ball ends up with ball.. either he loses it or :censored:

We look very very rusty!!

The main things that are going wrong are that:

- Communication in the defence is not organised
- Babel is re-assuring me that his brains are in his undies
- Lucas not getting forward enough (Although he is having a good game)
- Our play is basically sloppy and it is obvious it is the start of a new season

I think the backline will be more settled in this next half and Rafa will sort it out. Babel really needs to come off, let Benayoun play.

Other than that we are 100% still in this game we are looking sharp on that right wing and we will break through soon.

2nd half will be 3x better.

There's nothing wrong the way we play. It just that they know how to stop us .... Stop SG and Torres ...

Tottenham have been very good ... the only poor thing about them has been Keane's finishing... if they bring on Crouch or Pavlychenko for the 2nd half and we dont improve then they can easily add a couple to the scoreline...

we need to change things around... change in personnel because we have too many players out there who arent really contributing anything to the side...

what i'd like to see is Benny and Voronin coming on for Babel and Lucas with us switching to a more balanced 4-4-2 with Gerrard and Mascherano in the middle ....

What Rafa will do is bring on Benny for Babel and not change anything else...

To me the problem is clearly that we cant seem to get the ball from the back to the front without resorting to the useless long balls... we dont win those balls, and we dont even win the rebounds with Lucas and Mascherano playing so deep.... Put someone in the middle who can receive the ball and move it around... Gerrard behind Mascherano... no need for Lucas...

War Games is on C4.....might be a better bet for the next 45mins.

In truth there is no shock in how we have been, now we will see what we have got, we could have been 4-0 down but we are only one and we are Liverpool and never out of it till we are 4-0 down.

i would keep Lucas, take out mascherano, Lucas is having a better game of the two, plus he compliments Gerrard more in a 4-4-2 formation.

Get Benni instead of that awful player Babel

if any says this is down to Rafa having no money.....dont for get Rafa was told he had around 56mil to spend., thats a lot for any team unles you are Real or Man City.

. How woeful has babel been. Nothing down the left at all.

What to do now ...

i say bring on :

1)benayoun for lucas and push gerrard into midfield and benayoun as the support striker.

2)Dossena for babel....Dossena will at least put in more decent crosses from the left. Heck he could even score a goal...

We need to wake up soon. The lads have to get over the fact that the pre-season is over.....

The signs were not good during pre-season...why didn't benitez fix it ?

Rafa can talk as much as he can on Lucas and Babel but nothing changes the fact that they have no place in Liverpool - at this point Rafa is just making a fool of himself.

Yes first half first game ,but those 2 where Shiiite for a whole season and more so please rafa spare use the pre season psycho babble(babel).

No surprises whatsoever...
