I would blow the lot on Fabregas. He is already adapted to the prem, would add a lot more goals and assists while still linking play and would add that extra creativity that we are looking for.

frankly speaking none is better than the Alonso of last season. it really put a dent in winning the title for us this year.

i read the other day he hasn't even started pre season training..

Rafa has deffo got alonso's replacement sorted out. he said on the offy he has known xabi has wanted to go since may. and he knew then with perez getting in at Madrid he could expect big money

I just don't see that as remotely likely s@int.

Arsenal would never do a deal with us, IMO.

I agree, That's why I'm more inclined to getting someone like Dafour who while not as developed as Aqualani (not as injured either), can develop into a great player and can be the beginning of a new spine for after Stevie and Carra are gone.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

We can end talk of Defour or anyone now as we have agreed a fee with Roma for Aquilani.

Let's talk about it here.

Liverpool FC today confirmed they have agreed a deal with AS Roma for the transfer of Italian international Alberto Aquilani, subject to a medical.
Liverpool concluded their discussions with Roma once the sale of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid was finally agreed.

Aquilani, who recently celebrated his 25th birthday, is expected to feature heavily for Italy in next year’s World Cup finals.

Rafa Benitez said: "Alberto is a very good player and I'm delighted we've reached agreement with Roma for his transfer. He will travel to Merseyside later this week for a medical. Alberto has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League.

"He has long been recognised as a top class talent in Italy, captaining his country at both Under 19 and Under 21 levels before establishing himself in the senior national side."

Maybe just change the title to Xabi's replacement until Aquilani is fit :D

Great shout and is a better player than Aquliani is IMO. Real Madrid are desperate to offload him and the rest of there dutch contingent so i reckon we could have got him on the cheap.
