Sorry lad but what people say holds no truth. Most of them come out and say "I supported Liverpool as a kid" when it's clear they didn't.

I'd like to think our players wanna play for the club because of it's history and tradition. But some players do come here for the money, just like any other club. Some stay here because of the money i.e. Diao.

Most players in the modern world go where the money is, Michael Owen is no different in that sense. What hurts more is he's gone to Man United and shown no loyalty to this club by doing so. Whereas Torres has publicly stated he'd never play for Real Madrid because of his loyalty and ties at Athletico.

Spot on, there are still players with principles, but sadly the majority are more interested in their bank balance.

I don't think anyone believes he should have signed for the mancs,(I think we should have signed him) but I do understand WHY he has signed for the mancs.

That probably doesn't make him any less a c.nt for doing it, but given his lack of options I think its understandable. I just hope that he plays like a c.nt and costs them the title.

What is he going to say Dundalk? "I ONLY SIGNED FOR THE MANC C.NTS BECAUSE NO ONE DECENT WANTED ME"

Who knows who else wanted him saint?

Joe Kinnear came out today and said Everton were after him in January but the deal fell through.

If fergie had have changed his mind on Thursday morning not one member on here would have believed that United would ever be interested in him

Of course they are, but you cannot deny, Owen is no better than Diao. Could we sign any current Everton player we wanted if we had the money? The answer would be no. If we had the money, could we sign Tevez? Money plays a big part, loyalty plays a bigger one. It adds to the value, what Owen has done is pure greed and selfishness, and this is what miffs me off about him.

This season we challenged for the league. United won it to equal our record. Come the end of next season, picture this. United win no.19, overtaking us, with Owen lifting the trophy.

And that is where my bitterness starts. Its not about money for the fans, to see owen in a manc shirt is bad enough, picture him in that shirt, lifting no.19 helping the scum to belittle us. And then the real heartache begins.

i reckon we all just forget about the pr(i)ck now and look forward to the coming season, with comments like "i never gave it a moments thought" just goes to show how he doesnt give a toss about what Liverpool fans think of him, after the amount of money and patience newcastle shown him he couldnt get out of the door quick enough.

i say fook him and enjoy warming the bench at another club, we`ll see how big his balls are we manure come to anfield in october, anyone wanna bet he`s rested

look at the utd team now to the one that finished last season and smile.

and remember King Kenny is back, a fooking true Legend

Michael Owen signing for the Mancs ,is simply confirming what I knew a long time ago ,he is simply a grubby little mercenary fuelled by monetary gains rather than the love of the game .
I genuinely feel for Newcastle and the fans he has treated with disdain and contempt ,and I can only applaud Benitez for not letting this leech slime his way back into the club that once loved him ,I despise Owen's attitude towards the game ,and by choosing to tarnish the memories I hold dear of his time at Liverpool, by joining the Mancs ,I can only say the less his name is mentioned in connection with our club be it past or present the better it will be for all concerned .

Well judging by the fact you're on an internet forum at 1:54 am you mustn't be getting it either, unless you and the missus got down to it quite early.
