He left. His career has sufferred as a result. Why keep up this stupid hatred. Whats he supposed to do?? say no for :censored: sake to Man United? ???? one last big pay day? A chance to win the trophies he wants at the end of his career???

I wish him well. I have fond memories of the lad in  Liverpool shirt and he was and will be remembered as one of the best finishers we have ever had.

A sane post in an insane thread mate

I feel sickened that WE have allowed him to go to the mancs when we could have used him ourselves.

True..the tea ladies hamstring is stronger!!

We shouldnt be the ones allowing him to go to Man U. You reckon we should have got him just so we didnt have to stare at that picture? We shouldnt be staring at it full stop. we shouldnt have to put an offer in just so he doesnt wind up at scum land

Ace you support Man U mate?

Used him as what?...as a "bench warmer"?...come on the guy has been finished since he did the dirty deed on us.....what goes around...comes around, it would be interesting to see how many LFC fans regard him with any respect now?.......I can see a poll coming on. :nod

Michael Owen Has Ian Rush Backing Over Expected Manchester United Move

Liverpool legend Ian Rush believes Manchester United-bound forward Michael Owen can rise through adversity and prove his critics wrong. The Welshman believes that under Sir Alex Ferguson the former Real Madrid striker can produce exemplary form this season.

Owen has undergone a medical this morning, according to earlier reports, and has also agreed personal terms. He has reportedly had to take a drastic pay cut, with The Sun indicating that he has penned a £50,000 per week deal.

"People have knocked Michael Owen all his career but he comes back bigger and better," Rush told Sky Sports News. "People said he was finished years ago but he's a fantastic player who comes back stronger and better.

"[The talk] won't worry him, I know the way he is and he doesn't have to prove anything anyway.

"It's a chance for Michael to get back and score some goals. He'll get chances for Manchester United and will score goals."

Rush continued by remarking that he would have preferred to see the England striker at his former club, Liverpool. "Personally, I'd like to have seen him at Liverpool, but they haven't lost their best strikers. [Manager Rafael Benitez] will be happy with what he's got,” Rush concluded.

cant mention that here mate

Of course he would, NOW. He didnt hesitate in joining Madrid rather than give Rafa a chance did he? He didnt come running to us when we were after him before he joined Newcastle did he? No, its all about the money. He is clearly trying to get the best he can before he retires, looking at the "brochure" his agent sent out to clubs show the desperation of the greedy little man. One good thing for us, I hope he plays both games for united against us in the coming season, Carra will be on his back all game, verbally, as well as the crowd. Even Judas had his limits. What little respect I had for the weasel has well and truly gone. Spiteful, greedy little bastard.

For the same reason Lucas Neill signed for West Ham when the mighty Liverpool were after him - for more £££££.

Ace do you really think Owen would ever come to us when he wouldnt be the main striker and only as a back up ?! never in a million years .

Ace the main problem people have with what your saying is your wishing him well and hope he does well - That means doing well at man utd and scoring goals for them and then doing better than us ?! surely you cant wish that and would rather he failed horribly and never scored a goal for them and flopped ?! which one would you prefer ?

Players with Liverpool in their heart would never go to Man Utd Ace - Players with Liverpool in thier heart - the same liverpool that made him a world class player in the first place - the same liverpool that gave him his break - the same liverpool he refused to sign a new contract for - for 3 years on a trot .

Ace I appreciate what you're saying but at the same time what he's effectively saying is that he doesn't give a feck about us or what the hell we think. He's washed his hands of any ties he had with our club in the worst possible way. And YOU want to wish him well.
