I'd like to know more about Joe Fagan, was reading up on him a few weeks ago actually but of course he was a few years before my time. He only spent two years as manager and won the League, League Cup and European Cup, as well as finishing runner-up in the competition.
He followed in after Shankly and Paisley, so really I think Fagan's appointment may of been just to keep the ship steady while a long term replacement was found. It seems that he isn't spoken of too much which is strange because during his two years he kept us winning trophies and challenging, which isn't always an easy thing to do.
He won the treble in '83/'84 and looking at it he might have stayed on longer if it hadn't been for 1985, however he's mentioned very little relative to other Liverpool managers. Why is that?
