Nail on head and this goes for a lot of clubs in the Premiership, not just us, the latest example being Daniel Sturridge going to Chelsea this week.
To be honest, I don't really blame him for wanting out of City. If City want to sign 8 strikers, and put him 9th in line then he's going to want some kind of compensation. Nobody can convince me that he's not equally as good as the likes of Jo, Benjani, Vassell, Bojinov etc.
However, he can't use the excuse that he's off in search of first team football because he's only marginally closer to that at Chelsea: he's followed the coin. In other words, Chelsea will pay him more to sit on the bench. No ambition, really, because I'll bet that other clubs would pay him less and play him more. How's he supposed to develop? SWP and Scott Parker come to mind.
