But not at the expense of Alonso maybe one of these players instead of cash for Arbeloa?

dont it just :censored: you of that just as we look to have built a good team players start to leave and upset it, it will mean that new players need tocome in and take time to fit in.

Not sure if any of the players you named would come here for less than 20mil.

Don't know about you mate, but I don't see anyone in that list that makes me wish they were in our first team at the expense of the existing lads....

Well Arbeloa is as good as gone, his choice so any of them players wouldnt be a bad move instead of cash.

And with Aurelio out for a few months then Drenthe would be worth looking at.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Its going to be down to how much they ask for any of them.

Robben and Sneijder .. from the players Madrid are reportedly looking to offload i think those two would walk into our starting 11.. Both can play down the flanks and Sneijder can cover for Gerrard or Alonso/Mascherano against the smaller sides i'd think..
Van Nistelrooy would be good backup for Torres and im sure we can use him as a starter if we wwanted to change things around.. would make a good buy imo...
Gago would be a good replacement for either Alonso or Mascherano incase we decide to sell.. ONLY if Madrid dont ask for silly money for him... they paid 40mill Euros for him... im thinking 10mill pounds or so is more like it...

Still, would be great if we manage to hold on to both Alonso and Mascherano especially now that its been made clear that we (surprise surprise) do have money to spend yet again this summer ... 30-40mill i'd think without having to sell... so with the Johnson deal costing us about 8mill or so im thinking we have around 20something mill to spend on a top attacking player... no need to sell unless the players try to force the issue...

Drenthe is one of the worst players i have ever seen play for Real Madrid.... dont want him anywhere near our club... Hes as bad as Dossena is at defending (maybe worse) and while he uses his pace to make good runs down the flank his end product is poor at best... wouldnt pay a dime for him tbh...

Drenthe is shyte anyway. Terrible crosser too. Sneijder and van der vaart are good options. I think it wont get sorted till after the confederations cup so maybe Rafa is planning to sit down with Xabi and ask him what he want's to do.

But for Masch I think if Toure is satying at Barca then we should look to give him the pay bump he wants. The fact that he hasn;t had a new contract signed up until now makes me think that maybe Rafa was planning on offloading him all along. He wanted to keep Xabi but now thats going down the pan too.

Masch does deserve that pay bump , 30k a week is really little for a top player like him who has been consistent and one of our top performers ever since joining .

I'd have to say I agree with that but would ask....

How come he is - ahem! - ONLY on 30K a week ?

Yeah that's really shocking considering who his 'economic representative' is. Maybe he always only planned to stay for a few years so he agreed with Rafa to not be on the big wage scale. If he was really here for the long term he would have surley asked for a bigger wage.

I think none - then again im ignoring all the bulls.hit rumours and just listening to what our manager says - when he says he is NOT going to sell them - they ARE NOT for sale - he intends on KEEPING all his best players and he doesnt have to sell anyone to finance any purchases.

If they both went i think we would have in the region of 55 million,

even if we spent all that on the replacements i cant see us getting no one as near as good.

man utd have all this money now. no one wants to sign for them..

Rafa just need to keep on rejecting and rejecting. were so close. and if they go our dreams of winning the title goes with them, especially Xabi

Its the whole gerrard saga over again   :(
