The british media are telling the truth - Or am i just being paranoid?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Sun Jun 21, 2009 10:05 am

That the british press & media really have it in for Liverpool football club?

The Times one of the broadsheets sunk to a new low yesterday with Torres to Chelsea for 60 million and Alonso for 18 million.

Dont get me wrong any club would love these two players, but lets not let the facts get in the way of scaremongering, Nando has just signed a new contract a few weeks ago, made a statement that he loves Liverpool so much and would not leave for more money. Yet The Times and Sunday S*n say he's on his way to Chelsea.

What part of the Nando interview do they not understand?
Even the yanks arnt that stupid to sell Nando as they know we have some fans who are naive and think there is nothing going on at the club and they bought us Nando so they are great !!!

Not only have they linked most of our first team away they have even done the deals for us with player exchanges aswell.
In the last year we have had.

Masch to Barca or Madrid, Alonso to Madrid, Agger to AC Milan, Kuyt to Hamburg, Gerrard to AC Milan, Man United or Madrid, Benayoun to both Madrid teams, Arbeloa to Madrid, Reina to Barca, Voro to Valencia + cash in exchange for Silva  :Oo: Babel to Galatasaray, Dossena to Juventus, Torres to Man U, Chelsea, City, Barca, Madrid, AC Milan.

Just some examples of what we are dealing with how many of these deals have come off? How many of these deals will happen? Possibly none do they just print these stories hoping that a deal will happen to say see we are right? Mean while whipping the fans into a frenzie message boards flooded with sheer horror at the prospect of losing our whole team.

And now onto the yanks, yes I hate them, yes I wish they would sell, yes I wish they had never bought us.
But its the media that is to blame for all of our hatred of them since the klinnsman saga since they reported that Ive hated the yanks for the slyness of it all. Then we had them reporting about the Yanks selling to DIC a few months after they took over, then we have had Kuwaities, and Indians all soon to become our new owners.

But the yanks are still here so all them reports where probably false but it also didnt help when the yanks where demanding a ludicrous amount for the club so investors/new owners walked away.

But if this had all happened behind closed doors none of us would have been the wiser, and just plodded along. Thinking everything in the garden was rosy and the yanks where the best owners since sliced bread. But no our accounts and our debt is there for all to see, not only for us the fans but every one, other clubs, other managers, potential new owners, every one.

And this makes us a complete and utter laughing stock Evertonains and Mancs, haha its your own fault you wanted investors to move you forward, they are skint and your in debt up to your ears all pointing the finger and laughing.

Not that the mancs have much to laugh about our debt dwalves theirs yet the media dont tell you that, oh no we cant upset Sir Alex.

Their yanks have to re-finance like ours do their interest repayments are 80-90 million pound a year, they force their fans to buy tickets from Man United credit cards, they have the auto cup scheme where the ticket money for cup games is automaticaly taken out of their bank accounts whether they have money in their accounts to pay for them tickets or not.

But there is no uproar this is in small print in the press or not atall. Plus their fans dont complain because they are winning trophys on a regular basis and buying good & world class players. But when Furgie leaves thats when the sh!t will hit the fan of the media darlings. Lets not mention the fact that their two world class players have just left thats 3 quarters of their attack gone is their any concerns or lambasting of Furgie for letting them leave? No chance  !!! Slur will be alright he always is they wont miss their 42 goals in one season winger/striker not a chance, no point in reporting it its a none story. Just wait till next season when that diving cheating greasy hairless gobsh!te isnt their to win them free kicks. Or the Argentinian terrier isnt their to bring off the bench to change the result of a game. They are going to struggle big time and thats not just me hoping its a FACT!!!

Now onto Chelsea Abramovic has lost billions in this recession their team is ageing and still trying to get their hands on the one trophy that keeps avading them the CL, if and when they win that me along with a lot of others think Roman will take his money out and move onto pastures new.

They sack their managers on a regular basis if Roman walked away tommorrow he would take all his money out leaving them in more debt than us, do the media report of print this?
No chance, why not? Answers on a postcard...........

And now onto the wonderfull Gunners who's kids pull off a one game performance playing one touch football,  inhilating the opposition 6-0 in a cup game. Havent won a trophy for 5 years yet the wonderfull Professor Yaffel never comes under scrutiny because they play on the odd occasion sexy total football, with little triangles,  everyone in the media w@nking themselves silly over them until they play the Boltons and Stoke Citys of the world. Not a word mentioned then, no orgasms from the SSN pundits, no linking their players away all over Europe in the transfer window even though they very nearly missed out on a CL spot last season.

And would have if Villa hadnt have bottled it, and if Everton hadnt hadnt have been so sh!t at home. And if they had have missed out on it they would have been in serious trouble paying for the Emirates but thats not worth writting about so we wont print it.

I dont know if most if these journo's have had their stereo's stollen whilst visiting Liverpool by them scousers, or they got food poisoning from a Fat Spanish Waiter.

Maybe I am just being paranoid?

I wouldn't worry about it, this sort of thing always happens during close season as they have to come up with some OTT headlines to sell papers.
However, we do seem to be easy targets this year due to our well publicised financial position. If G&H ever tried to sell Torres for instance, Rafa would walk and they would be lynched, they know they are not respected over here and are on rocky ground so I cannot see them doing something that would alienate them from the fans even further.

I was just thinking the same thing and actually opened this forum to see if anybody else was talking about it.
Constant links of players to other clubs even when they keep saying how settled they are. (Torres)
Suddenly can't settle in Liverpool despite no mention of this for two years (Mascherano)
Desperate to leave after faling out with Rafa despite him always saying he wants to stay (Alonso)
I think it is pretty obvious the press don't actually really like Rafa because for some reason every season they report how much pressure he is under and what he keeps doing wrong however other managers like Wenger slip under the Radar and to be honest it is getting to be very annoying. All we want is some good quality researched reporting is that to much to ask ? these days the only paper I believe is the Liverpool Echo.

I think theres no doubt we get more shi'te than the rest!
They are afraid to annoy Fergie he gets way to much respect cause of the "sir" title.
Lets face it though we are a far bigger and better club than Chelsea and Arsenal with our huge history and all that..So we are the biggest target!
The in fighting has not helped matters though..in fact it more or less put the clubs head up and shouted shoot at us!!

Then added to the above we are LFC fans so we seek out news on our own team/club and tend to miss the sh'ite about others(not that they get as much)

I hate this time of year, cause of all the cr@p flying about.Never even bought a Sunday paper,I just dont want to read their bile today!

Dont think theres much in it to be honest...
Big club that continually misses out on winning the league, or anything else for that matters... Manager who treats player like robots and quite a few unsettled big players in the club.. Rafa being known for selling and buying too many players every summer... Other big clubs with plenty to spend, looking for quality players seeking silverware... Liverpool's financial situation.. The ownership situation....

Can you blame them ?
I for one couldnt care less about what's written.... Mascherano, Alonso are the main concerns... and as far as i can tell from whats been said by the players/ their families/ agents, they're both unsettled at the club and wouldnt mind a move elsewhere....

P.S... Barrys right in saying we as Liverpool fans probably dont know much about whats being said about other clubs and stuff... Adebayor, RVP, Toure, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Deco, Drogba, even Terry and Arshavin have all been linked to moves this summer.... means fck all..

No hidden agenda as far as im concerned just journalists trying to break the news before everyone else does....

The London journos are more paranoid than you are Ciggy. They're worried with the team Liverpool have mounted, the same team thad didn't progress in 5 years but now have many of their players in the agendas of big clubs, and they'd love to see them go. And if it's cheap, even the better.

In 90% of the cases it's all bóllocks. The London pretend to know inner Real Madrid gossips before the Madrid gossip journos, and you realise they're just making it all up. The 23M offers that supposedly would accept Rafa, where are they? that's what they wrote a month ago.

We might lose an important player this summer, as sometimes these things happen, but I don't expect a massive exode or something like that, and I expect it to be very expensive for the buying club.

i was just about to post that the distribution of rafa lovers , neutrals and haters amongst the journos is probably quite similar to that amongst the lfc supporters on this very site, when ace popped up and proved the point!

Many journos/fans will always treat rafa with huge suspicion until he wins "the big one".

Apparently all your transfers are :censored:, all your tactics are negative and your squad is in disarray unless you've won the perm title

The journos all seem to forget 12months of lies from fergie regarding ronaldo to RM, and the fact that they've lost the worlds best player, and have to retire the PL player of the year, their keeper and best cm for a generation very soon. ???

As frustrating as these rumours are, At least now we have the kind of players that attract interest from big clubs, or at least attract rumours of interest from big clubs.

I dont want masch or alonso to leave, we're too close to grabbing that title to be rebuilding the core of the team, but if they do,they will be going for a large profit.

So why arnt they linking every player away from other clubs? dont let your hatred for Rafa cloud your judgement for once, the media have an Anti-Liverpool agenda, just like you have an Anti-rafa agenda.

This morning for instance what was the top story on SSN?

Gillet selling the Montreal Canadians
or
Ronaldo saying he planned all year to move to madrid.

I know which story is far bigger and its not about the Canadian.

I mentioned this yesterday. I think there is an agenda with the media here but generally they are cun.ts. No matter who the manager is they are always looking to sell a headline. Thats half the reason why this country will never win anything internationally becasue the media are always a circus. Look how they were with Sven in his private life with his affairs ect...Not saying that was the reason but if you had yourself and your saturday night plastered all over the papers could you really be arsed?

Rafa does well to dust it all of his shoulder but it really is getting silly now.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

If you had actually read my post you'd know that the answers to your questions are actually there...
And im not anti-Rafa, not the way you for instance would think anyways... Personally i think hes a very good coach... He'd probably have Mancity, Everton, Aston Villa or Tottenham challenging seripously for a CL spot if he managed them... no doubt in my mind about that.... is he good enough to win the league ? not to me.. not unless he changes his ways (1/3 of a season out of 5 seasons or so isnt enough to convince me)...
When it comes to man management i think hes cack... Keane, Crouch, Alonso, Pennant, Finnan..etc etc.. its a pattern and quite honestly i find it hard to believe otherwise...

Its typical though and expected.... the journos are against us... so are the refs.... so is the F.A...etc etc
If we had won the league i dont think any of this would have been seriously discussed..Top players who play for big clubs that continually fail to win major honors are always likely to want to move elsewhere when opportunity knocks... The players know that, Rafa knows it, journos know it, and thats what all the fuss is about.... add to that the few other negatives surrounding our club atm and most neutrals would find whats being printed believable to say the least...
Mascheranos wife came out saying she was unsettled in England... Journos report that.. Barcelona re interested.. they report that too.... does that mean theyr against us...
Pretty much the same for Alonso...
The Pepe thing wasnt even that big when it came out... you as a Liverpool supporter probably thought it was, but im sure many Arsenal, Chelsea...etc supporters just thought eh whatever...
Torres to whoever was always a joke... whos to say they hadnt put a bid in... maybe they did, and it was reported... not much to it and doesnt mean anything...

Arsenal get quite a bit of negative press aswell dont you think...
VanPersie doesnt want to sign..bla bla.... Toure off to City blah blah.. Arshavin unsettled and wants to leave.... Adebayor deffo out of the Emirates...Fabregas to Barcelona...Clichy to Barcelona... etc etc... Why ? same as us... havent won anything major in a few years so it makes sense if some of their players would consider moving to other 'bigger' clubs who are more likely to offer silverware, and maybe a fatter paycheck as well...

Again... dont think theres much in it... inferiority complex ? ermm not sure many would like that !

agenda?
we're a club in money trouble with great players... of course there will be speculation.
Same as arsenal are getting with van persie, fabregas, adebayor and toure

All teams get it but we only notice our own troubles
