Saviola has always been a strange one for me because he has never performed well in Europe, for any club he has been at yet he always gets talked up by fans of many different clubs. I always remember the wee c*nt for his handball that led to him scoring against us in 04-05CL

This made me laugh  :D

yeh, i didn't know weather to laugh or cry! cause as much as it did both , i have to agree robben- feck off! a good player my :censored:!

he really is so over-rated it fecking begges beliefe. what would he bring to the side -feck all! his name even mentioned has to be a wind up, cause if anyone REALLY thinks he is a player who would add value to the sqaud is not on the same wave length & i wouldn't want to get into a disscussion about him, as i wouldn't want to waste anymore of my time talking about players who aren't worthy of an interview let alone a tour around our famous ground.

to think we are even talking about selling players like alonso & replacing him with totall sh1t like robben makes my blood boil!

Robben may be a c'nt but is class.

Dont get mixed up between hating a player and confusing their ability.

Reminds me of something yoda once said......

Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering."    :D

REAL MADRID are offering Arjen Robben to Liverpool in a straight swap for Xabi Alonso.

Kop boss Rafa Benitez is reluctant to sell Spanish midfield star Alonso and has already turned down an £18million bid.

But Real will also try to tempt Benitez by offering an alternative deal of £18m cash plus Gabriel Heinze if he turns down Dutch winger Robben.

Real need to raise cash after signing Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo for a combined £142m.

And former Chelsea star Robben is their most marketable asset.

Real Madrid sources say that Liverpool put a £27m price tag on Alonso. By offering Robben, president Florentino Perez can avoid splashing out another massive fee.

But Benitez could be wary of the Dutchman's woeful injury record since his £27m move to the Bernabeu two years ago.

And the prospect of bringing in full-back Heinze could be far more tempting one for the Anfield boss.

Benitez targeted the Argie defender two years ago when he left Manchester United.

Back then, Alex Ferguson blocked the deal and Heinze ended up at Real.

But Benitez is still looking for a reliable left-back, and Heinze fits that bill.

How about three players of our choice from Real Madrid for Alonso? Sound like a good deal (for us) ?
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Don't think you can transfer a player in and then straight back out again, isn't there a regulation preventing players moving clubs that frequently?

Here's what it says on FIFA's website (for 2008)

III. REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS

Article 5 Registration

1. A player must be registered at an association to play for a club as either a professional or an amateur in accordance with the provisions of article 2. Only registered players are eligible to participate in organised football. By the act of registering, a player agrees to abide by the statutes and regulations of FIFA, the confederations and the associations.

2. A player may only be registered with one club at a time.

3. Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the
provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.

4. Under all circumstances, due consideration must be given to the sporting integrity of the competition. In particular, a player may not play official matches for more than two clubs competing in the same national championship or cup during the same season, subject to stricter individual competition regulations of member associations.

Article 6 Registration periods

1. Players may only be registered during one of the two annual registration periods fixed by the relevant association. As an exception to this rule, a professional whose contract has expired prior to the end of a registration period may be registered outside that registration period. Associations are authorised to register such professionals provided due consideration is given to the sporting integrity of the relevant competition. Where a contract has been terminated with just cause, FIFA may take provisional measures in order to avoid abuse, subject to article 22.

2. The first registration period shall begin after the completion of the season and shall normally end before the new season starts. This period may not exceed twelve weeks. The second registration period shall normally occur in the middle of the season and may not exceed four weeks. The two registration periods for the season shall be communicated to FIFA at least 12 months before they come into force. FIFA shall determine the dates for any association that fails to communicate them on time.

3. Players may only be registered – subject to the exception provided for in article 6 paragraph 1 – upon submission of a valid application from the club to the relevant association during a registration period.

4. The provisions concerning registration periods do not apply to competitions in which only amateurs participate. The relevant association shall specify the periods when players may be registered for such competitions provided that due consideration is given to sporting integrity of the relevant competition

Looks like Article 5, section 3 is the most relevant bit.

Seems a bit wishy washy regards "official matches" etc. If Ronaldo could go to Madrid and come straight away to Liverpool then that's poor practice IMHO - not that it would happen. Someone could sign a player knowing another club wants them and then offload them straight away without playing them, say a part exchange sweetener. I would have thought a registration should have to be at least two months, or once per transfer window would make sense.

The laws of the game on www.thefa.com is quite interesting in places, the guidelines for referees etc is good. Read it and see if you don't comment on the referees' positioning at set-pieces, the linesman and so on.

:no  :no

Why Did real Madrid buy him then, if he is so :censored: or Chelsea for that matter?

You are so blinded by your utter ignorance that you wouldn't know a good player from a Dossena.

Robben is a superb player and is unbelievably quick for one thing and can supply pin :censored: passes, even better than Alonso in  my opinion, plus he has the ability to actually score a gola evry once in a while which Alonso has sadly never quite figured out how to do despite his many other talents.

Heimdall you are correct, he is one hell of a player RM best player last season, but you have to also take into consideration. The time he has spent out injured since he left Chelsea and he is one greedy kunt plus a diving b@stards.
I take it you watched the Norway V Holland game a few nights ago he is one greedy feckin player scored a cracker tho . :buttrock
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Robben IS a diving cheat...... yes, but also one of the best wingers around too. I would choose him without doubt over Silva. He is much bigger for one thing (almost 6 foot)  and while like most "flyers" he has injury problems, when he is on form he can rip teams apart.

I think if he had played for us this season we would have come much closer to the mancs.
