I don't think that Benzema is all that. He isn's a 25 goal a season player and thats what they will be losing.

I luv the thought of glazers stealing the money right from whiskey's underwear pocket  :D

that would be funny but it won't happen.

utd have the transfer budget to spend anyway... £30m on berbatov last season etc, £17mil on hargreaves, carrrick for £18mil. etc...

i reckon they'll go after someone big now to replace him, whether its ribery, silva, villa, benzema, etc we'll just have to wait and see

Silva -- i doubt about it mate
ribery/Benzema only possibilities

I think Tevez will get an offer from the mancs but will reject it because he's just been messed around.

I dont think we would be able to afford him tbh and would rather see Silva here.

Fantastic news about Ronaldo, now let's take Tevez off them too!

Tevez and G. Johnson and I'll be a happy man :)

We need to sign at least two players, two good players, no more bargain basement cack.

where've you been the last 3 weeks?  :D

i think chelse, man city, united and even spurs may be first in line for 1 or 2 of those

We may well struggle to win league next season if we can't sign those type of players.

Our first team needs a few improvements but our bench is absolutely woeful.

The Ronaldo news is good, that will chop a dozen goals or more off the mancs already declining scoring tally through free-kicks and penalties scored, but won through cheating. I suggested on another forum that they can now keep Tevez and the response I had was he didn't want to stay so wasn't really welcome, they'd rather have a goalscorer like Benzema! Benzema scored 17 goals in 36 league apps last season and 20 in the same number the season before, but if his reported asking value is anything like figures I've seen quoted then that's more expensive than Tevez with no goals in a decent league so possibly another Cisse. They'd be better off trying to land Eto'o, not that I want to put ideas in their head. All that does depend on how much of the £80m is available to fergie.

I may have to look at how much Ronaldo's goals contributed to the mancs' title campaign this/last season.

Declining scoring tally but they still managed to win the league. How many were saying when Beckham and RVN left they wouldn't win anything. Fergie will always find someone to replace the previous. The only difference this time is he has sold a player in his prime rather than in the past when you could argue the players sold were past their best. At the end of the day if we do not improve then it's not going to bring us any closer to them.

That aside it is great to see the back of him.

Here they are, nice and quickly done.

The Ronaldo Premiership Impact 08/09

Apps : 33
Goals : 18

With Ronaldo's goals : P33 W25 D5 L3 F62 A21 PTS 80
W/O Ronaldo's goals : P33 W20 D8 L5 F44 A21 PTS 68

Two notable wins would have been potential defeats but for Ronaldo's goals, he scored twice in the 3-2 win over villa and twice in the 4-3 win over Hull.

He scored twice in the 2-0 win over West Ham, the winner in the 1-0 win over the bitters and the 2-1 win over Blackburn.

So there's your dozen points in a mere five games where his goals have made the difference. I wonder if Dirky Boy has a similar comparison.......................

With Kuyt's goals : P38 W25 D11 L2 F77 A27 PTS 86
W/O Kuyt's goals : P38 W21 D13 L4 F65 A27 PTS 76

Considering he scored six goals less than Ronaldo, inevitable given Gerrard takes our penalties while Ronaldo takes them for the mancs, that is pretty good. Better slap a £50m price tag on our Dirky Boy and issue a "hands off" warning to any clubs who are now needing of a RM.......................  :D

FFS now is our best chance to win the league now that ronaldo is gone . Hopefully we get 1 or 2 top quality players to do it .

As for Benzema well lyon's president has slapped a 85 million price tag on his head , ribery's price tag is around there as well . Don't be surprised that they go for samuel eto now , sign up tevez and valencia
