Dzeko is young enough he might be happy coming off the bench as much as starting, and playing CL football, although he will get that with Wolfsburg he isn't as likely to get to the QFs. Eto'o may simply be out of our budget and too big a temptation for Citeh to let us get much of a sniff. If we signed either I'd be optimistic, but if the latter links I've read about since someone mooted them on here I think I'd question our ambition.

Of course Lawro fuelling the speculation over the reported debt hasn't helped, we don't really need his opinion on the direction the club COULD go. We all know the finances are worrying, Rafa probably doesn't help with what can best be described as lavish spending - Keane £20.3m, Babel £11.5m, Dossena £7m, Cavalieri (reserve keeper) £3m etc. Then again we don't need too many bosmans either, give me a bosnian every time! There are bargain strikers out there, one or two unearthed every season yet we don't seem to unearth any - unless you count Torres at £21m a "bargain" (good value for money yes, but it falls in the higher transfer bracket of £20m+)

I'm keen to see Saborio in the Premiership if his move to Stoke is more than just a (wikipedia) rumour. Maybe if the funds are tightened we may well look for more bosmans than bosnians, Eto'os or £20m signings. Sacrificing a player like Mascherano may serve to raise transfer funds and stave off the creditors

I think it's the Times that has a rumour linking Eto'o to Man Utd now/today, not that it wasn't inevitable someone would do so.
