Terry urges carragher to play for england - Whatcha think?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby dawson99 » Sat Jun 06, 2009 9:05 am

1: Any truth?

2: If he got to play in his position would you support England more?

3: Would it be detrimental to his Liverpool career?

4: Does anyone even care about England anymore?

In an ideal World, this would be the press conference dialogue:

Reporter: "Hi Jamie, I'm Barry McCloooooogan from The Mirror. Much has been made of the plea from the inferior and largely gay John Terry for you to return to the England set-up. We know that representing England must be a tremendous honour for you, and thoroughly expect you to accept the invitation. We all agree that you should give International football another go as otherwise you will always be remembered as a player who couldn't make it for your Country, joining a long list including John Barnes and Alan Hansen.
Would you ever consider coming out of International retirement for the good of your career and your Country?"

JC: "F*ck off, Barry, you nonce."

pffffft Carra will be lucky if he is still the first name on our team sheet after this season, the legs are going Im afraid.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Think your writing him off too soon tbh ciggy.

I reckon the break will do him the world of good, i am sure that he will be disappointed with his form this season but i am sure he will coem back good.

On Dawsons question, no he shouldnt even consider it, he was treated badly by numerous managers and knows that he wouldnt be first choice.
Like he said he has a family that he would be better spending time with than flying to different countries to train and get 5-10 minutes here and there.

Both Terry and Ferdinand are better defenders and would be first choice whenever available and fit... Woodgate, King, Jagielka, Lescott, Upson all around as backup... dont think he has much of a chance although he's certainly better than some of the names up there...

Why would he want to? He got fecked over by England manangement more times than I can remember, do I recall Ledley King getting in the side before him despite only having played about 4mins of football the whole season (admittedly above average for big Led) all while carrying a broken back? F*ck em Jamie!

some on here think he had a disappointing season, yet he still won defender of the season in the SSN poll. I thought he looked a little tired in the last few games, maybe he should have been rotated more in November? :D

agreed, feck em he did the right thing for me- btw he's still the first choice CB for me, in the recent times of cr@p going on behind the scenes, jamie is so commited to the club,& wants future glory that i say let his passion & determination for still playing for LFC rather than his country will keep him focused, & not frustrated like he became with the set up/manager etc with England. i will always admire JC for stating the reasons why he wanted to retire from international football, & at the time most LFC if not neutral fans also understood his reasons- (not that i give a feck) if neutral fans did understand it. he is red through & through.

if that helps him to remain as fit as possible for us then i'm made up, he took the descision in the first place. he put the bigger picture into his descision & wanting to concentrate on LFC rather than train /be fecked about by his country, when he should have been first choice anyway showed he wasn't prepared to waste anymore time being unproductive for himself & his career.

why is it that it's only now that the likes of JT & others realise JC is what being a CB is all about!
tough sh1t capello, i hope jamie says no so that he remains fit for us end of.

Well obviously becasue rubber lips done his back in and Woodgate is injured again. I hope both those 2 are injured for the finals as well. Let Capello sweat.

Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I think that was a compliment, a nice thing to say, as in, "we need your football here".

So this time I won't insult Terry.

yes mate but for me it's a case of 'to little to late'  the national team have & will suffer because of sh1t manergial decsions in the past,it's all PR bullsh1t for me so JT can do one as well as others who are now realising what a massive mistake they made by fecking around with JC  in the first place.

England now also believe they 'dream of a team of carraghers'  :D
