Here's my choice:

Wheater (as a backup)
Downing (as a backup)
Tuncay (rotation/backup)
Alves (rotation/backup)
Adam Johnson (youth)
Steven Taylor (backup)
Basson (backup)
Coloccini (backup)
Obafemi Martins (backup)
Owen (pay as you play backup)
Borja Valero (backup)

They would all fit in well in the roles I mentioned above. Any thoughts ?

Id take Wheater and Tuncay but thats it. The rrest are not good enough.

I'd take Tuncay, Steven Taylor. Alves hasn't cut it in this league at all......

Could take Obafem, with better players and consistency could get back to his inter days.

If only M A Fortune was on a permanent at The Baggies, he's decent.

Coloccini has always been a key member for his club and country and has always played well before coming to NewCastle. I won't judge him by just one season, even John Terry would look average at NewCastle.

all those back-ups wont win us the league. we need a star signing. someone who can help us get those extra 6 points. although there is no harm signing owen for free, on our terms and used as a super sub.

I'd go with Wheater, Tuncay, Martins, Duff, Steven Taylor. I wouldn't want Owen back, he's too injury prone and nothing like the player that ran away to Spain.

he has spent all season proving how poor he is . Veron was argentinas captain yet he was poor in the prem .

why is it when he has been poor in the prem the whole season confirming he isnt good enough for the prem so not prem quality
