look how excited south africa is at getting it, how excitsed would english people be if they got it? I don't think americans wiill be jumping for joy at the idea of SOCCER coming.

Mexican-Americans are the only ones interested in 'soccer'? It's one of the most multicultural nations on earth, mate. Loads of immigrants from around the world live in the US. As footy's the world's most popular sport it stands to reason that loads of Americans follow the game. The problem is that MLS footy is way below the standard of the European leagues and so draws less attention than it otherwise might, giving the impression that Americans don't care about footy. How many, though, do what Joe or Supits or the Good Yank do and follow religiously via telly and the internet? Surely a lot more than you think.
