As well all know most of the money for new players will come from the sale of our old players.

For me we need a new striker and a defender.

here is the list of the ones i would sell and the money i would like to think we could get from them

ANDRIY VORONIN Loan deal to end, 5mil

Dossena from 8mil

Babel you have got to be looking from a starting price of 10 mil

Lucas Leiva, well i hear they like him in Spain, they can have him, 8mil

Daniel Agger , we could get a lot for him if he is fit, starting price 11mil

Agger has just signed a new contract so cant see him being sold to anyone

Babel - expect around 6 mil if sold

Dossena - around 5 -6 mil depending on where he goes too .

Voronin - 5 mil to a German club

Lucas cant see being sold as well .

Agree with all of those sales bar Agger, who I wouldn't dream of selling seeing as we'd then require buying 2 CBs and because he's actually a much better defender than Skrtel. There is a case to be made for keeping Voronin if we're talking from a pure footballing perspective (he'd be handy to have on the bench) but it seems like he's desperate to leave and has put himself nicely into the shop window with his play in Berlin this season. Oh, and if anyone offers us 10 million for Babel after the insipid displays he's routinely turned in these season, we should snatch their hand off.

I thonk the problem will be that to get a big name into the club we might have to sell a big name.

why might we have to sell a big name to get a big name ? thats just counter productive - sell babel and dossena and voronin will get you around 10-15 mil - add that to the funds of around 25 - 30 mil and that gives us money to get two big names .

What worries me is that Rafa's intention to sell Alonso to fund a Barry transfer will still be the case this summer, especially as Alonso's form this season will set a much higher premium for his services - 18m+.

I'd like to think we could get at least £25 million for Alonso, at that price I'd sell although I would of course prefer to keep him. But that £25 million could be used to strengthen our squad and we can certainly play without Alonso, especially if we get Barry.

i dont feel any of these players are good and would offload as many as possible i think dossena/ degen and voronin could fetch 10million between them and there are players like hammil, antwi, martin, anderson, plesis and leto who could go for around 1million each possibly 2 for leto

we could make around 20million if we push for it on players who wouldnt be missed imo plus the apparent 25million we have to spend thats enough for 3 strong addictions in the summer.... johnson, silva and a forward ??

some people have suggested selling babel lucas pachecco bruna some very promising young players and even the likes of agger alonso and benyoun have been mentioned?? for me selling yur most promising youngsters and some of your best players is only gonna result in a massive backwards step

the key is the sell the players who are not good enough and the ones you never will be and use that money and the money already available to buy players good enough for the first team

20 mil for that lot is pushing it a bit - we wont get anything for degen . and cant see much more for the others as well .

why? well 25 mil is not a lot of money, say we build it up with 15 mil, that will give us a 40 mil to spend, you are looking to spend around 25 to 35 on a top striker now, that dont give us a lot of money to replace player in problem areas.
