We should turn this thread into a 'Favourate goal from favourate striker' thread. Could be fun. :)

This is one of my favourate goals from Robbie - v Brann. The first touch is as good as you would ever see from any Messi, Ronaldino or whoever. Pure class that.

Torres has all the potential to be the best. However Fowler at his peak (1995-98) was the best I've ever seen.

Best Fowler goal for me was when he flicked it over Rios head i think then slammed it past Barthez .

He had so much natural ability. People go on about Wayne Rooney but where is the consisteny? Robbie scored 30 goals in his first 3 season. That is phenomenal!!! I am sure if he had avoided the injuries he would have surpasses Rushes record.

I think when it comes to natural Instincts in front of goal thou nothing compares to Rush - Fowler was an outstanding finisher and scored some spectacular goals but Rushes instincts are prob up their with the best ever in the world.

It has to be Rushie for me..... BUT based on what Nando has shown so far, he has definitely got the potential to be the best ever.

Fowler
Torres
Rush
Owen

Fowler in his early years was something and the most natural thing from cows milk but if Torres stays with us for the next 3 years I think he will be top

Reg this is the second time in the thread you've gone down this road. I voted for Torres mate, and I saw Rush play many times. Rush was an absolute goal scoring phenomenon, a brilliant player. If you think Rush was better than Torres is, then great, it's an opinion mate and everyones entitled to one. It doesn't mean you haven't seen Torres play, it's just an opinion.

Rush obviously achieved far more than Torres has, simply because he played longer. He most likely achieved far more than Torres will playing for Liverpool, simply because he played in a dominant era for the club. That said he was a brilliant player.

Torres is though by common consent just about the best striker in the World right now. He's won major International tournaments, scoring the winner in the final. He's the number one striker for the number one team in International football. I know it's unfair to compare Ruish in that sense as he played for Wales, but brilliant as he was I don't know if he was the best striker in the World as Torres is now.

Anyway you won't have made it this far, but it's just opinion  :) .

As a pure goal scorer Mick do you still rate Torres higher than Rush ?

And back in Rushes day he was the best goal scorer in the world - proved it in europe as well just shamer he never had the chance to show it on the international stage . And think back to how many other strikers there would aroound back then that were world class ? the itallians , brazilians , germans ,  etc lot more competition around than compared to now for torres .
