Questions - The patently obvious

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby redbeergoggles » Sat May 16, 2009 3:00 am

Have Liverpool this season proved they have adapted the same traits as the Mancs ,in as developing a win at any cost mentality ? Have Liverpool proved in no uncertain terms that they will play for 90 mins plus to achieve the required result ? ,have Liverpool proved without a shadow of a doubt that they can compensate for the loss of Gerrard and Torres ?

Have Liverpool proved they can out score any team in the Premiership ? have Liverpool proven that this season is just the catalyst for further improvement ? Has Benitez proved a formidable adversary to Taggart ?

Has Benitez nullified the effect the media has on his team ?
Have Liverpool become the most exciting vibrant skillful   team in the premiership ?
Have Liverpool proved without any cause for debate that they have the most passionate fans in world football ?

Has Benitez raised the expectancy levels amongst supporters ?
Have Liverpool developed a spirit that will be unshakeable next season ?
Can Dirk Kuyt work any harder ?
Will Riera decide the white boots make him look like a tw@t ?
Will Babel consider the theory ,he's been sussed ?
Can Skrtel look any more threatening ?
Will Agger drop his gangster mates and stay out of Dreamers ?
Can Gerrard win every conceivable  award ,and court more eulogie's than Ronaldo receives from Gay news ?
Can Alonso excell even further next season ?
Can Mascherano eventually  run Midfield on his own ?
Will Lucas come clean and tell us he's not Brazillian, but actually from Widnes ?
Can Arbeloa play any more laid back ?
Can Aurelio eventually score free kicks from the dressing room ?
Can Carragher be any more Scouse ?
If you experience any difficulty finding the required answer to the  submitted questions, may I politely suggest you utilise your time following another team .........  :D

Right I'll have a go for you red. Inorder, lets see...

Same traits as Mancs? second half of season, check. The 90 minutes thing, usually yes although not at Wigan or Arsenal seemingly, Torres and Gerrard? over the course of a long period? not for me no.

Outscore any team in the Premiership? on our day, check. Proven this year is a catalyst? no not until we actually do something then we look back and call it a catalyst. Formidable adversary to Ferguson? Check.

Nulified the media effect? I don't understand that one so I'll give it a check anyway and pretend I do :D. Have we become THE most vibrant and skilful team in the Prem? well we are at the moment so we'll give it the old check. Most pasionate fans? obvious check.

Raised expectancy levels? Check (perhaps too much it seems to me).
Spirit which will be unshakeable next season? Hopefully.
Can Dirk work any harder? He could work on his first touch in training perhaps, but seriously it has to be said that he does run around a lot. Well it doesn't "have" to be said but since you pointed it out RBG he definately does.
Riera's boots? Hopefully.
Babel? Speak to the babelians.
Skyrtel? He would look more threatening to the opposition if he spent less time watching the ball and more time watching the opponent. He worries me (although in a football sense I am easier worried than most I think it's fair to say).
Agger? Dunno on that one. Don't know his mates or "Dreamers". Gangster mates though aren't a good idea for footballers, nor is hanging around in establishments as unimaginitively monickered as "Dreamers".
Gerrard? Hopefully, he deserves all the awards he gets.
Alonso? Yes he can, he can back himself more and advance another 15 yards. I think if he does he can score close to double fiugures in all comps. I know he's never done it before but that doesn't mean he can't do it.
Masherano? No I don't think he can.
Lucas? lol  :D Not at him as he's improved a bit, at the Widnes line.
Arbeloa? I doubt it but I don't care, I like him.
Aurelio? :D
Carra? nope.

There you go mate, the questions were easy so I can stay supporting Liverpool :p

Mick you have such an unforgiving nature :D Lets view the Arsenal and Wigan games as a steep learning curve ,one that in hindsight delivered us to the form we our now showing ,If you like view them as gliches in an otherwise promising season .

Next lets take your other query ,this season is indeed a catalyst as it has not only exposed the weak links in the team ,but created a solid foundation fused with an exciting playing style ,which I think you will agree bodes well for next season .

As to the term nullified  the media, I mean Benitez  this season has in terms of other managers quelled the debilitating influence the press have on the team (albeit for his so called rant ) .

I put this point forwards Mick why is it so many people comment on kuyts first touch when it is so much more adept than Torres ,that much is glaringly obvious ,yet in the same respect Kuyt is brought to task over these so called deficiencies ,rather than an advocation of the vital  importance of his inclusion in this current Liverpool team ,put simply Kuyt brings a lot more to the party than certain players  .

As for Skrtel I never commented on his said abilities or lack of them ,the player is still raw in my opinion
Agger keeps bad company ,Dreamers is a lap dancing club in Liverpool .

Alonso is a lot more comfortable ,not making them runs he sprays the ball around with ease and precision and in order to do this it is essential he operates from the middle of the pitch ,as he can view the play in front of him .
Hope I have answered some of your questions within the short time I have had available .
Im off to bed now fella ,been in work since 6 and the works computer is wrecking my head now (two speeds Slow and stop ) :D

re outscoring all-comers, that isn't the aim. The aim is to get most points and most wins is the proven way to achieve that. That may come by scoring the most goals, but the mancs haven't scored the most this season and will finish above us as Champions and with more wins/points.

For me the key elements on goals are that we have scored more than in any previous Premiership season while not sacrificing too much defensively ie scored more but not conceded loads. However we still need to learn the value of spreading the wealth, no good having £74, spending £20 a day on lunch and running short of cash at the weekend. Or in the goals equivalent, scoring five against villa, four against the mancs etc and not managing to score against Fulham, West Ham, Stoke (home or away) etc. We've scored seven more goals than the mancs and won three less games. Had we won three games we've drawn 0-0 then we'd be top............................
