:D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

If we challenge again like this year and are 4 to 5 points off again i'd say one last final year before sacking rafa . He has gotten very close this year and torres getting injured has cost us a couple of points . Whatever happens this season i'm very proud that we've come this far and our title challenge has gone right down to the wire even if the squad we have is not made of title winners , we have pushed manu to the extreme

It's far, far, far, far, far too early to be considering this question seriously.  A win or else mentality makes zero sense, IMO, at this stage.  Besides the fact that we're still not completely out of the hunt this season (although I grant that it doesn't look promising), we have a summer of transfers to come and then much will depend on how we go about things next time around.  If we completely fail to challenge for the title then perhaps there's a case to be made for calling time on Rafa's tenure.  What happens if we play excellent football and still fall a little short, though?  Are people honestly going to say that Rafa's got to go?  Of course, there's a whole spectrum of other possibilities in there as well--including winning the thing--that affects the decision.  So, basically, anyone prepared to say here and now--without any of the actual substantive information that would form the basis for a responsible decision on such a big issue--that Rafa must win it next season or else is absolutely, 100%, ready-for-the-padded room mental.....all IMHO of course. :D

Rafa is probably only going to get what he normally gets to spend so to turn aroud and say if he doesn't win it next year sack him is complete rubbish. He just signed a long term deal so why are people talking what ifs for next year? Some on here are too fickle and don't deserve a manager like Rafa.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Nah, mate, they've got me in a different padded room--the one where they put people who have been pleased with the strides the club has made this season but who recognize that, no matter how badly we all want the title, winning the strongest league in world football is, you know, actually kind of hard.  As such, this particular padded room is populated by people who think it's a bit silly to pre-judge what should happen to Rafa 12 months from now on the basis of a hypothetical outcome that could have come to pass in a multitude of very different ways.  Incidentally, this padded room is also for the people who don't think we should necessarily sell Torres if he doesn't score 20 goals next season and for the people who think it would be a bit hasty to decide in advance that Reina's got to go if he doesn't accumulate at least a dozen clean sheets by next May.  Raving loonies, the lot of us, but we have fun. :upside:

Yes lets never ever sack him, even if we get relegated, that's a good plan, change is scary isn't it!!  :D
