WEST BROMWICH ALBION VS LIVERPOOL - Sunday 17th may 13.30pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby stmichael » Wed May 13, 2009 1:48 pm

So it's the last away game of the season and hopefully we'll still have something to play for. Not holding my breath though.

West Brom came to Anfield and tried to play football and were butchered for it. Keane even scored. If they try that approach at home, Gerrard, Torres and Alonso will kill them. But they have to try it to try and survive. We should win this comfortably, taking us ABOVE the points tally record Rafa set in his 2nd season.

3-0

2-1 to WBA

Rafa decides to rest his stars for the 2009/10 premier league campaign and a deflated liverpool second string  11 take to the pitch after hearing the premier title is beyond them... a spectacular  early strike from Andreas Dossena is cancelled out before half time by a lucas leiva o.g.

Late on in the second half, an attempted body-popping move from Ryan Babel gives away a penalty in his last game for the reds, and the result allows the baggies to escape from the drop and relegate sunderland, newcastle and hull   :buttrock

A Comfortable Win - nuff said .

It will all come to the last game , trust me . Man Utd will lose to Arsenal . You can quote me on that .
The title will be decided at the last game . Its meant to be like that .:blues:

Yea..anyway, let's say they lose against arsenal...still, the scum will definitely win in the last game.

Should be a routine win this.  We may not be able to catch the scum now, but we sure as hell need to make sure we don't lose the plot and allow Chelsea to leapfrog us - it would take some of the shine off a pretty good league campaign.

Would love Arsenal to beat United, but I just can't see it.  Even if they did, United could put out their ladies team and still beat Hull they are that rubbish right now.  Still, to take it to the last day would be exciting at least.

If the kids reached puberty and become men , they might beat them the mancs . Arshavin could make the difference.

I'll be just proud that we were in contention for the premier league till the end and gave a farking good fight .

I think we've played them seven times in the Premiership, won all seven scoring 22 goals and conceding none in the process. Why oh why is this a Sunday kick-off? Neither side played midweek, it isn't a big game per se, so I expect TV is just lining up a televised Man Utd title win on Saturday and if they don't win then they have the other title contenders on Sunday.

After all fergie's whinging about fixtures, is he complaining now his lot are a point from the title? I expect he'll just claim they did it in spite of fixtures being set against him. He can't moan about his last four fixtures, sides with not a lot to play for and/or in dire (away) form.

We should win this, the only bearing it may have on the bigger picture is to relegate the buggies

I would play this formation if we are out of the title race by sunday. :p

----------------------- ------Gerrard -------------------------

------- Riera----------- Torres----------Yossi-----------El-Zahar

-------------------- Ngog ---------Arbealoa----------------------

----------------------------- Carra-------------------------------

----Dossena--------------- Mascherano -----------Reina------

Formation: 4-2-1-3
Subs: Babel (GK), Kuyt (LB), Lucas(DM), Agger (RM), Insua (RM), Skrtel(ST), Alonso (ST)

9-0 to West Brom :p

It will only matter in terms of securing 2nd place unfortunately, but a comfortable win...1-3 I'd say.

No reason to drop our level of performance even if the title is gone by the time we play.  We need to practice for next season in putting these lower league sides away with ease.

Best XI please Rafa

             Reina

Arby   Carra   Agger   Aurelio

Kuyt   Alonso   Masch  Riera/Benny

         Gerrard
             Torres

If we score early though, it could be a cricket score.  :buttrock
