And now the end is near

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

And now, the end is near;
And so we face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which Im certain.

we lived a season  thats full.
we traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
we did it Rafa’s  way.

Regrets, he’s had a few;
But then again, too many to mention.
He did what He had to do
And saw it through but Man U we will not mention .

He planned each charted course;
and Fuoked it  along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
He  did it Rafas way.

Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When he had bit off more than he could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
He would Sub it out
He faced it all and he stood tall;
And played lucas his way .

we loved, we laughed and cried.
Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
We still don’t find the Draws so amusing.

To think he did all that;
And may I say – not my way,
No, oh no not me,
he  did it his way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not gotie, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
ferguson is a twa*
The record shows he took the blows jobs from Ronaldo
Rafa more of a man than that twa*and he can do it MY WAY.

ok i knows it not that great great, but after todays results i think the end of our prem dreams for this year are very near over.....if not over.

Faint glimmer of hope for Wigan but I don't think it will happen. :(

But make no mistake utd did not take it from us, we handed it to them. They were poor but they were not made to pay for it as we dropped points at home. I think this year will be a good learning curve. Rafa knows what is missing now. He just needs to put in the finishing touches and we will win the league.

I have been impressed by Rafa a few times this year but still fing him very hard to understand, if he is here next year then i hope he will not talk as much in the press and play his best players when he can, he seems to be getting on better with Lee now and working well.

the home draws were such a let down  i still feel he got the games so wrong.

will he learn from it? not sure, he did not learn from it the last few years and i dont think he is going to be able to buy the team of his dreams.

We can hope that Arsenal beats United and that Rooney confronts Gallas in a threatening manner and a massive fight erupts and both sides get deducted points like in the 90-91 season :D

He is a foreign manager so will always have some tendancies that others may not like. But I think all that talking this year was just him showing Fergie Liverpool are back on the up and up so watch out. And who can blame him. We done the double over them and Chelsea this year. That is a great acheivment considering how bad our record against the top 4 was in his previous years here. The media took things out of context and made it into some mega event just to sell papers but deep down everyone knows Rafa was spot on with what he was saying.

But one thing he has learnt im sure is to rotate less. Or rather maybe he has finally seen which of those players he cannot trust so he doesn't risk rotating with them any more.

Yeah tell us more about that. I heard similar rumblings a few weeks ago.

My understanding is that is partly to explain why they cannot afford to buy Tevez outright. And that they will also have to sell a few players to lighten the debt too. Hopefully they will cash in on Ronaldo.

I agree

And I would love it, just love it if Wigan get something.

I doubt it though.
Theyd had the luck, the fixtures and the PR theyve needed to ride the storm.
Just wait till next year...

With AIG struggling in the economy, I wouldn't be surprised to see them resort to drastic measures involving United haha. Oh my, it'd be better than Christmas!

It does leave a nasty taste in the mouth just knowing that it was our own doing this year rather than the usual 'we couldn't catch them'. I have faith for next year though. But it all really depends on how well Rafa buys in the summer.

In reality, I should be really pleased with how this season looks like ending.  We look unbeatable, we are playing attractive attacking football, and we seem to have a first 11 who can truly challenge.

All of this is real progress for us.

It is probably because we are about to lose out to Utd that takes the shine of all of that, but the real kicker is that I think we have been the better side this season, and it is totally our fault that we are not already crowned champions.

I watched the start of the Utd game today, and yet again, they play for and get a cheap free kick, and predictably the greasy little $hit gets a lucky deflection to open the scoring.

After we threw the title away, Utd have had a string of results that just make you think that God, the Premier League, the media, and crucially referees mean for them to win it this year....

just a few examples

Villa....they should never have won that game.
Spurs....ref says he got it wrong
Sunderland...lucky deflection clinches 3 points

It really does stick in the throat....but as I said, had we not drawn twice against Stoke, lost to Middlesbrough, drawn to Man City at home, or any number of the other other 11 draws this season, we'd be watching an open bus parade with the EPL trophy about now.

Bloody annoying,and every time I see Fergie's smug red nosed grin, or Ronaldo's pouting greasy spoon face I just want to be sick.

I think Fergie has shown that he fears us now, entering into some bizarre mind games, and at times losing the plot.

If we can retain the form we have now into next season, I can see us going unbeaten till xmas, and setting the pace.  I only hope this season, and 2 or 3 world class signings will help us stay there next year.
