Tevez anyone?

If he's available we should consider it to be honest.

I agree with those that say we shouldn't break up the Gerrard - Torres partnership, but the fact is that they have actually only started 13 Premiership games together this season.  Torres' hamstring problems are well documented and Gerrard is picking up more niggling injuries as he approaches 30, so I don't think lack of game time would be a problem for Tevez.  He's best suited to play off a target man, but he is versatile enough to play with Gerrard up top too - United won the league playing Tevez/Rooney up top last season and neither was a 'lead the line' type of striker.

I wouldn't pay the 30 mil to sign him outright, but a similar loan deal to what United had him on would be a decent plan imo.

He could probably play in Torres, Gerrard and Kuyt position happily (even left wing).

He's a top class player . AND WILL IMPROVE THE TEAM .
He can play as a striker , support and on the wings . He's kinda like kuyt but with 10times more inteligence , quality , touch and pace . Yeah we need a player like him , and that article about
signing tevez would be a huge mistake is pure nonsense .

I would put in a bid for him...but I wouldn't pay 30 million, maybe more in the region of 25.He also needs to know that in LFC too his position is not guaranteed as we need to play gerrard torres up front if they're fit. He needs to either be back up to them or if strategy permits play as second striker with gerrard moved back or as left/right attacking player... he will get more games than in united though... comparatively to mascherano...

I think he is worth 30mil considering what he would give the tream. Froget Barry and Downing. Get Tevez!

I think you have to consider whether 30 mil is good business for someone who might not be in our strongest XI.  I'd definitely have him here but not for that amount.

If we had Tevez then I'm not sure Gerrard and Torres would be automatic starts any more. Why not try some variations, we all know that Torres has had some bad games this season as has Stevie, how great would it have been in those games to have been able to bring on someone like Tevez instead or maybe swap Torres and Tevez to give them some rest, or even start them in a 4-4-2. If he wants to come to us we should get him signed, he might very well be the missing piece of the jigsaw for us, together with Barry.

Yes I agree if we did bring him in then Rafa would need to think about other formations too. There is nothing wrong with having other options. If we did go with a 4-4-2 then surley that would leave Masch/Alonso out in the cold let alone Lucas.

Do you think Tevez could play on the left maybe in the current set up? ie where Yossi played yesterday. I like Yossi but i'm just asking hypothetically. I think he plays in that similar position for utd sometimes right?

He probably could, but he'd probably end up like Babel. Both of them have the striker mentality. Kuyt and Benny will usually work to create something and get the assist. We need more players like those two and the title is ours without a doubt

(Ok I am going to slate a Liverpool player and praise a manc player now sorry guys)

I don't think you can compare Babel to Tevez. Tevez has shown he can produce the goods and contribute at the highest level playing from a number of positions. Ryan Babel is yet to find any sort of form. Infact how many games this season have we seen Ryan play and come away from the game saying 'Babel was awesome'.

Well I'll tell you, after his winner against United I was praising him for a whole week haha. I'm not saying he proved himself, but he obviously seems to play with the striker mentality. He's always holding the ball and trying to force himself into the box instead of laying it off to someone in a far better position. Not to mention that every few weeks he reminds Rafa that he wants to play as a striker in the future. Tevez is a modest player that can get the job done, but are we sure we need to spend 30 million on a striker just so he can play the wing?

Tevez would be a great signing but it would cost us a fortune, and we have to think about what we really NEED.

I think we should maybe get a striker who is decent but wont cost as much as tevez because we are much more suited to the lone striker formation.

I think our biggest need is actually a right back.. Arbeloa is good but often a bit of a weak link on the right side and when he is injured we are a little screwed, and we cant forget that big sammy is leaving.
