LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL - 21st april 2009. anfield 8pm k/o

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Biggest game of the season for us tonight this.

Get past Arsenal tonight and every other game we will be odds on to win. The away games look winnable( Hull, West Ham, West Brom) and I would back us every single time at home. Including tonight.

I've heard that Arsenal are thinking about resting some players and we know Van Persie and Adeybayor are out, however they still have a lot of match winners in their team and its those type of players who win these games. Eduardo, Arshavin, Walcott or Fabregas , if one of those players has a good game, then they are more than capable of beating us at home, so we have to get out the traps early and set upon a wounded and tired team.

Losing Gerrard is a MASSIVE blow for this game, I can't recall him ever having a bad game against Arsenal(reguardless of Henry back pass) and the team will have to deal with his loss. I reckon we will see:

Reina

Arbeloa  Carra  Agger  Insua

Yossi   Masch    Xabi    Riera

.    Kuyt    Torres

And I think were we can really hurt them is the pace of torres against Silvestre. They have to start him as he and Toure are only fit CB's and I reckon if we can get Torres in behind, thats where the game will be won or lost.

I'm going tonight

I've got a bad feeling about this game , heart says we will win , head says arsenal will bounce back and beat us , typical arsenal you don't know which team is going to show up . Even with adebayor and van persie out they are still a attacking threat and they can hurt us , hopefully the red men can get the job done , every game is a must win like a cup final

They will go forward and leave massive holes at the back mate.

We will kill them on the counter attack.

We played better at Emirates without the advantages of an extra man, then as soon as we got it we were beat.  Why cant they field a full strength team :( :D

:D , I have bad feelings about big games and so far this season when i've had good feelings about the only 2 we have lost/drawn it . Gerrard will be a big miss , arshavin is in top form and fabregas wilkl just keep spraying those passes through to bendtner who's finish is cack but is very fast

I had a dream that we won 2-0 by the way

Although the mancs won 3-0 in the World Club Championship Semi Final on the same day  :Oo:

So I wouldn't take it as fact  :D

Yeah but we have a much better team now.  I'd be very surprised if we don't win this.

Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road
