However Rafa for me didn't do his best to give us a fighting chance - his starting line up was discussed no need  to repeat but then even after we were up 2 he did nothing to try and get it done - we scored but we werent that focused and attacking and he should have started the 2nd half with more attacking skill and what killed me that he gave up on the game when he replaced Torres very disappointing - our lads have more then one heart in their chest today our coach did nothing to influence the game.

Couldn't DISAGREE more if I tried.

Rafa's tactics had victory within reach. Individual errors cost us the game not Rafa's tactics.

spot on . rafa went for it - his players went for it - in the end just wasnt too be . poor defending in the first leg is what did us in the end - but the lads and rafa did us proud

Agreed.  Tactically Rafa got it right.  The shape was good.  We created enough chances.

Even Lucas did ok, although I'd have preferred Riera/Babel to start on the left and Benayoun where Lucas played.  I'd also have preferred Agger to Skrtel in this game.  But hey, that's why Rafa is the manager, the team he picked played really well, and it was individual mistakes that cost us.

No problem mate care to explain?

I haven't got the smallest of complaint for our lads they did their best but Rafa? Going for it means puting your most skillfull players when you need them - we needed more attacking quality in the beginning of the game and when we were up 2 we needed more he just settled for chance ,unacceptable.

Agger is just coming back to fitness, at Anfield against blackburn its worth the risk, against chelsea at there "shed" of a stadium its not. Besides, id rather have him fit for the arsenal game. Roll on the league !

im so proud to be a liverpool fan tonight.....

everyone who bled liverpool red at stamford bridge tonight can go away with their head held high because we almost achieved the impossible not once but TWICE.

say what you want about individual errors.....ultimately it did cost us the tie over both legs......but tonight with the emotions like they were, i couldn't be more prouder of us. the miracle machine that is Liverpool FC almost did it again................in a strange way it could be the best possible outcome come May......

well surely as we went two nil up in the first half then rafa got his tactics spot on when we needed goals - reira was off form - babel has been off form all season and gerrard was injured so what else could rafa off done ? we scored 4 goals - how more attacking do you want to be ? we lost goals down to individual errors thoroughout both ames - cant blame the manager for that

Mate, we were pushing high up the pitch as it was, and leaving ourselves wide open at times.  Even at 2-0 we were leaving gaps at the back - which was what we had to do.

If we'd sacrificed a midfielder for another striker at 2-0 or 2-1 it would have been suicide, they'd have taken us apart.  We weren't playing against a sunday league side, Chelsea are a top side, you need to be careful too.

On balance of play and chances created you can't complain about Rafa's tactics here.  Individually our defenders in particularly weren't great and Reina made one bad mistake, but that's football.  Don't blame the manager.

Exactly mate we needed Agger ,we needed Reira on the field from the first minute and don't tell me Rafa planned it out that way - we despertly needed more quality on the pitch - again only Rafa the lads which played were all heart.

Proud of the lads tonight. We poved that anything is possible and that our team is world class (well maybe with one extra class player Rafa :;):  ). Absolutely gutted we didn't win but, proud, we put up a good fight.

come on you lot, lets not star it all again, i have not posted or even been on here since just after the last CL game.

yes we made mistake and yes some of them are down to Rafa but for once i would say we need to risk it and thats wht he did, going there to get 3 goals was always going to be hard and yes it will leave you open at the back, i the line up was strange but no can not say it did not work well in the first half.
well done lads
