How much do you think it would cost us to get 24 excellent players then ?

Most of those 60 players are young kids who could work out or who couldnt work out - where as its a main bunch of 23 that play in the first team . the rest are in the ressies or under 18 so it works out at around 20 players per squad plus the academy lads .

Even if only ten per cent of those kids turn out good enough thats 4 or 5 players that could easily save us up to 50 odd million .

Well at the moment we are 5 years in with a 0% return on all those young kids, not too good imo if you compare us with Manure and Arsenal.  :no

how quickly did you expect these kids to suddenly become good ? insua is one that is first team now - nemeth would of been if not for his injury , then there is spearing and darby coming through plus kelly is getting close and as well as pacheco . these things dont just happen overnight - wengers kids have been in the background for a number of years before they came through apart from the ones he picked up for 10 odd million.

Spearing and Darby should be closer, thats the point i am making mate.
I said it a few pages back they havent been selected this season when we have had injury problems in their respective positions.
They dont make the bench often enough either, 7 substitutes and they cant get a look in most of the time due to the over inflated squad.

Anyone who things the kids at Liverpool dont get a raw deal imo is not looking at things clearly.

Or maybe our coaches ,managers etc dont think they are ready yet to be involved that much and would rather stick with established internationals . The two are getting offered new contracts so i expect them both to be getting more involvement .

the players have to show during the week they are better than their counterparts they are competing against - if they dont then they wont get a chance . The risks of throwing in young kids is far too big for clubs challenging - its ok for teams like boro etc to throw them in there but how many of the top teams do it unless they have spent big on the kids .

The fact that they are getting new contracts is great, i am delighted for them.
If Jay Spearing is not ready to step in the odd game here and there at 20 when we have to play our left back centre midfield then that shows a lack of faith by the manager.

By the way i think he is good enough to be getting far more involvement and would slot in better than Lucas has.
He is a far more neat and tidy player, solid enough in the challenge for his size and has a decent shot on him with either foot.
However he wasnt signed for silly money.

But what backs up that you think he is better than lucas ? a couple of 20 min cameo slots ? Yes he may show he is good in the ressies league but up against the best the prem has to offer is a totally different matter . And its not a lack of faith - it was an extremely important game and the manager went with the experience of a established player as opposed to a totally untried youngster and we all saw that the manager got it spot on .

Listening to the various interviews and reading a bit more info on the subject, it's clear that Spearing and Darby are very close, and it could well be that next season sees their breakthrough into regular squad players. Here's hoping anyway.

As for Hammill, I hear that Rafa rates him highly and wants him to pick up as much experience as he can in order to develop into more of a team player.

Release some of the players that we don't need , we have a massive squad and there's no way some of the youngsters are going to make the cut here . Perhaps , insua , darby , spearing , plessis are the only ones who have impressed when they have played and look like the only ones who will make it

I know thats why i say they have been the only ones who have taken their chances have impressed , plessis was brilliant against arsenal last season but gone off the boil recently , started a game or two at the start of the season but didn't perform as well
