I had forgotten details of this interview and it was nice to hear again.

There are parts that are funny, yes, but there were other parts that let me wondering about "luck".

When he mentioned his two sacks, he was mentioning the fate of a lot of coaches, I don't know if there's a stat about sackings but in my country the ratio must be the highest.

He mentioned how he was unemployed and Montse told us how a maniac of fooball suffers in that situation. Then he got the promotion of a segunda team, changed his agent and got the Valencia job.

That move from Tenerife to Valencia mates, it's really a strange one, because it's rare to see a segunda coach getting a primera TOP bench directly. Rafa got a lot of "Rafa who?" headlines when he got the job. The agent had to be really brilliant to get that and no wonder Rafa is greatful to him. Unknown coaches sometimes do get primera benches, but usually they're men of the club, "temporary managers". A clear case of this is the current Atletico coach Abel, who was a average-goodish Atletico keeper a few years back.

In life some decissions can be key. Without that agent, he probably wouldn't have got the chance to take Valencia. Without Valencia, how could have he reached Liverpool?

It's funny how in life you can be succesful or not depending on a single decission, and how a lot of circunstances not depending on you (for instance Valencia looking for a new manager) can change your life forever.

In that, Rafa was a lucky lucky manager. Sometimes you're very good at what you do, but simply you haven't got the chance to prove it. Rafa was lucky enough to have his chance.

How Valencia fans must wish he never left. Sabre what ever happened to that Llorente (spelt wrong probably), the one Rafa had the falling out with?

None. He means Manuel Llorente.  Who I think left the club in 2006

Rafa called him a "scorpion"  :D But I think he was only one of the reasons Rafa left Valencia. There were too much shít in that club, and no wonder now have the financial troubles they have.

BTW my Bilbaino mate, weren't you in the Dundalk's "Rafa go" list? Now you have Don Rafa signatures  :D  :D ?

P.S. Funnily enough the mentioned Llorente could be the Valencia counterpart of Parry. He was the one to deny Rafa everything, and the cúnt survived 4 different chairmans. But in Valencia, he won the battle, for Valencia's disgrace. In that Llorente-Benitez battle, Llorente said that "Rafa wouldn't have important offers to leave the club" :D

Yes Alex I meant the the one above Sabre posted. What I know of him is only from that book 'Season on a Brink', but he seems like a childish guy. Especially to even try and sue him after he gave his notice in. Good on Rafa for countering and getting his 2.4million Euros or whatever the final figure was.

But Alex I have also mentioned Fernando Llorente recently in another thread, as a player I think we should buy. :D Unrelated to this topic of course.

Anyway their loss, he is our manager now and isn't going anywhere.  :p

Sorry for not answering before Bav, I simply said "oh I'll answer later and I forgot!" :D

If you have this kind of questions do ask in PM if I miss them.

Yes, you could say he's childish, but yanno what? Spanish football is full of corrupt and childish man like that.

No probs Sabre will do.

Yes they do seem childish but a lot more entertaining than the ones over here what with midnight visits to whorehouses and shootouts with Russian bouncers. I still cannot get over that.

Would never want someone like that in charge here though just for the record. :;):
