Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Munure come calling for a talented (slightly obese) player & the selling club roll over again! Everton said they'd only do buisness at £30 million, that fatboy was the best young player in UK & even W*nk utd would have to play fair. Guess what, £20 million & a further £10 million if manure win everything for the next three years!!! With the gooners ploughing all infront of them how possible is this & surley even the toffos(ahem) know this? Clubs need to be stronger in the face of the filthy lucre & in the face of that ****** manager who will remain nameless in these pages. Ziege apart we've always played fair with our targets, Gooners & Chelsea too. So why do Utd get away with it time & time again? He tapped us stam, horse face & saha!! Why dont the FA or Fifa do something??

Woah i was on The Sun's website when i say a link labeled that.  I quickly paniked and assumed the worst, luckily it wasn't ol' rafa that screwed things up but rather ol' trafford.  30m !! thats insane and a waste of money.
That is an insane waste of money and the mancs are desperate to get back on terms with Arsenal and Chelski.

However, make no mistake that Rooney, for all of his personal turbulence, is a fantastic prospect and may just be the tonic they needed to kick start their season. They are still a tough team to beat, the mancs, but has become somewhat blunt in front of the goal of late. With Rooney, they may have more firepower.

I just hope that he flops long enough for them to come heavily on Ferguson and his head may roll. Nothing wrong with a bit of wishful thinking...

Alan Ball was being interviewed and suggested that Mooney is not the finished article yet and he had an issue with the fact that a young player with all that money what will now motivate him?

I guess a trip to Aigburth would but then I'm sure he can get good service in Manchester

the only different when rooney transfer from everton to manu is he only change the place to show his pity little c**k

The other bad news is that Everton get to wipe off their debts...

why were you on the s#n website or posting it's articles?

Apparently Kenwright left this deal till the last minute cos they were going to go into administration and they needed the Chang Beer money, problem is with no Rooney no one wanted to sponsor them, he also let it to the last minute so that Moyes couldn't spend the money until January and they could use it all to wipe off debt.

Spiral, players are so-called "human commodity" for a reason. They are not like fixed property or cars where after you pay your money, it becomes yours.

Players and other similar sportsmen have something called contracts which binds them to their respective employers. If another employer is willing to pay to the present employer to mutually terminate a player's contract and this player agrees, then a transfer takes place where the "purchasing" employer pays the transfer fee to the "selling" employer and the "selling" employee terminates the contract with the player and the player signs a new contract with the "purchasing" employss. All is well and everybody is happy...

What happens if an employer refuses to sell this player who is still under contract with them but the player wants to move to the purchaser? The refusing seller can say "fu** off" and the purchaser can not do much legally but can really unsettle this "human commodity". He in turn, can choose to do a variety of things to his present club - he can refuse to train, refuse to play, sulk, go missing, party all night long, complain to the papers/media, go on strike, influence the other players or simply dig his heels and sit out his lucrative contract, especially is the contract will expire in 1 year or so, and then six months down the road resume his negotiations with the suitor and go on a Bosman shortly thereafter.

How on earth can a club hold on to this human commodity fi he is hell bent on going? Even Arsenal might have to sell Viera if he decided to go to Madrid with (I think) more than 2 years of his contract left. I think Everton got some 20 million up front with a further 10 million coming based on manure's success with him is OK compared to Liverpool getting only 8 million for Owen. But at least both clubs are getting something for a player who virtually cost them nothing.

Who knows that perhaps one day Chelski may be able to unsettle a Real Madrid player that they may have to sell him for a relative bargain. However you look at it, money still talks.
