sweetest thing is, we are now only 3 behind "Oh, it was just a bad day in the office, watch us thump Fulham next week" in terms of goal difference.  :buttrock

Fergie's not the only one ....even the dump manure fans are cracking up.

Latest rumours going around their forums  is that we will sign tevez next season....and let me tell you guys they are not happy with it.

They are not happy with berbatov....and feel that tevez has been mistreated by fergie...  :D

Two years before Rafa came we finished 2nd in the league 3 points in front of the Mancs and their "super squad" doing the double over the mancs along the way. 3 years before Rafa came we went a full season undefeated in ANY cup, winning 3 cups in the proccess and again doing the double over the mancs along the way. When Rafa came 9 of those same players then went on to win the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE and reached the League Cup FINAL. 7 hung around long enough to win the FA CUP the following season.

again... the sound of reason....

the fact that he went out and spent all this money replacing a seemingly capable squad instead of trying to improve on it... (and repeatedly doing that during the past 5 years or so)... can be used against him every bit as much as some seem to use it as an excuse for his spending shambles...

Do you seriously believe it's as black and white as that?

I can see some of the psychology behind it, for years we've had to listen to Rab.C, Wenger and Maureen go at it, and by getting into public spats with whiskey, Rafa is (perhaps) saying to his players "we are the main challengers, we are united's rivals, get used to it", but i'm not sure it really suits him.

I was one of the posters who were pleased when Rafa "stood up " to Fergie with his initial rant, but in hindsight it was just an embarressment because we fell away so quickly straight after it.(nothing to do with Rafa's rant that we fell away imo, but it was badly timed to say the least)

I think the best idea would be to let our football and results do the talking rather than getting drawn into spats with Fergie.

Let's face it, fergie leads 2-0 on Premierships and is 1-1 on European Cups since Rafa arrived, and is/was still sitting pretty at the top of the table, so most will view Rafa's rant as Keeganesque, while whiskeynose has won so much that (some) people don't think he can put a foot wrong. Point being the situation the ranters are in can affect the perception of the rant, even if both are equally embarrassing. I'm happy for fergie to rant away, their ill discipline yesterday and rants give us some hope as they obviously aren't happy bunnies. Just a shame the ref took pity on ladyboy Ronaldo and didn't send him off (was spoken to a couple of times about his dissent)

fergie spends plenty, £16.3m on a couple of Serbian kids, reported £30m combined on Nani and Anderson, £17m on Hargreaves, £18m on Carrick and £30.75m on Berbatov. That's £112m on just seven players. I can see where some papers might have scope to say fergie has spent less since Rafa got here, but it's players on the pitch that matter and his current squad cost about 45% more (about 1.45 times our's)

lol, how much is taggarts 'suspension bench' worth? ronaldo's an enigma as far as refs go, yet still ferguson demands better treatment for the ladyboy. 2 or 3 times this season he's been spotted kickin out after the balls gone without punishment, an that 'tackle' on DM yesterdy was a joke. his petulance shudda got him yellowed when he told Phil Dowd "no, you come to ME" when the ref called him over. how often can he get away with it jus cuz of his (undoubted i have to accept) natural talent? more to the point, when's taggart gonna quit moanin he dont get treated rite by refs? all adds up to Rafa tellin the truth on that fateful day - "FACT!!"

I'm just happy the filthy Mancs have Villa up next. A tough team that can take it to them with their poor form while Vidic is still out.

Still a long shot but we are definately in the title race at Easter which what I wanted to achieve as a minimum at the start of the year.

So if I understand correctly Ferguson gets away with a lot of things he does because he's Ferguson.

Well, I can understand that as the media are powerful, but surely we Liverpool fans shouldn't buy that cráp?

I can see where owzat's comin from, but time's gonna tell. He can't jus keep gettin it right, law of odds says some time he's comin unstuck and hopefully it's around time for that to happen. I actually enjoy the mind games, but accept them for what they are. It can't surely affect whats on the pitch unless part of that rant is "a commitment to play balls out footie and win every game by 3 or I'll resign....." kinda rant. As yet i dont believe i've heard one of them!!

Rafa got under taggarts skin a little i think, the 1-4 reverse jus shoved it home and now he don't like it. Lets face it, they aint used to losin by that many, and certainly not used to losin 2 in a row - specially this time of the season. He's got a coupla weeks of awkward questions to deflect away now, and if we win today it jus adds to that...... suddenly the mind games play stronger in his mind than Rafa's. I still say it dont change anythin on the pitch unless either of them reacts adversely tactics wise...... whats on the pitch is purely down to the chosen 11.

My thoughts exactly. The mind games are brilliant brings a different element to being a football fan, something else to talk about something else to moan about, we all love a good moan.

The mind games would be unacceptable if, for instance, Rafa came out after the game today having secured 3 points and pointed out the Fergie was on a slippery slope and we will win all our games and beat them to the title. You cannot heap the pressure on the squad, they have enough from the fans and the media.

If Rafa can deflect media attention from us to them, then brilliant I’d much rather see Rooney and Rio under the spot light trying to diffuse the situation and play down their bad form than Gerrard and Carragher. I've loved taking the :censored: out of my scum mates recently, we took loads earlier this year. It’s great banter and all part of football.

Rafa's FACT rant was great at the time and I was happy that he was trying mix things up a little. Unfortunately it coincided with a bit of a bliiiip. I feel they were unconnected though... if these professional players are effected by words like that from the manager then there is something wrong.
