As always i think Manure will draw villareal/porto and they will probably hope we eliminate barcelona or bayern or chelsea to let us do the "dirty job" to make their passage easier and want us in the final.

Hope manure draw barcelona......

but like you mentioned....that always seem to get rub of the green most of the times when it comes to "drawing of teams"....

I am personally hoping for either villareal or porto for us.... If we get these teams ...and we should be in a good shout for the semis....but i can't help but think we will draw an english opposition in the quarters.....

Order of preference:
1) Porto
2) Villa
3) Bayern
4) Arsenal
5) Barcelona
6) Chelsea
7) Mancs

I would be most excited about playing Barcelona though

There must be no footie by LFC BEING PLAYED, on 15th April for any second leg we dont play football on that day so Eufa will have to change it. An if they dont we should withdraw from the composition Simple ,

I cant see UEFA doing a thing about the date  :no

That would be ideal, ergo it won't happen.

I have this funny feeling that we might be on a similar track as Arsenal in 05/06.  We've seen off Madrid like they did (but with more oomph!  :;):  ) and I think we might just get Bayern next (they got Juve).  Then it'll be the Yellow Submarine in the semifinals and Barcelona in the final.  Thankfully, Pepe's not a nutter like Lehman was so he won't get sent off and we'll prevail. Utter bollox prediction more than likely but it would be a nice way to do it all the same.  :nod

Liverpool's CL Record By Country

vs Germany : P6 W4 D1 L1 F11 A6 (Won 66.67%)
vs Spain : P14 W5 D5 L4 F13 A11 (Won 35.71%)
vs England : P10 W3 D5 L2 F10 A8 (Won 30.00%)
vs Portugal : P6 W1 D3 L2 F7 A7 (Won 16.67%)

Not surpisingly both defeats to English sides were Chelsea in semis. We lost home and away to Benfica in 05/06, the German defeat to Bayer Leverkeusen in the QFs in 01/02.

As for Spain, well we lost home and away to Rafa's Valencia, lost the other two to Barcelona - one meant an aggregate win on away goals, the other was in a group stage in 01/02. Before we beat Real Madrid home and away, we had a record of only winning 25%.

Think I'd settle for any of the non-English clubs though, unless it was Arsenal and even then I'm not sure I'd be that keen on a rematch.

Think my "order of preference" would probably match DanAn's - except the top three might be in any order, Porto aren't the side that they were, Bayern just murdered Sporting Nobody Of Lisbon and didn't Villareal hold the mancs home and away? (probably a gentleman's draw kind of thing, both happy with two points from two games)

I wonder why................

I might prefer Chelsea to play the mancs in the QFs and save Bayern or Barcelona for their semi. No point putting Chelsea that close to a final, I'd rather neither Chelsea nor the mancs reached the final (two years in succession) Put them both against each other in the QF and one goes straight away

And the media all jerked their loads when they stuffed Roma, despite Roma never having won the European Cup and not having much of a record in Serie A either

AS ROMA - FRAUDS OF EUROPE

Serie A : Won 3 (41/42, 82/83, 00/01)
Italian Cup Winners : x9

European Cup Runners-Up : 83/84 :D
UEFA Cup Runners-Up : 90/91

Plenty of sides in England can match that kind of league and European record, even CHELSEA. The big three in Italy are AC, Inter and Juventus

Went for mancs against barce and bayern against chavs cause think those two can knock them out of the thing .

I also hate the way that they draw the semi's at the same time. It effectively means that you get one step ahead of yourself.
