If we loose on sat expect this place to be full off it once again . It just seems while there is nothing negative to say they dont say anything .

I think its more a case of when things go well, there are few arguments as we are all delighted with the performance and the result, but when things go badly there will be those that criticise and those that defend and then the arguments start. Its the arguments that fill the pages and up the post counts.

Or some posters are here just to complain and be negative so when there is nothing to moan about they are quiet until something happens for them to moan about .

Last night we actually got more people into the penalty area which we've been crying out for all season. Torres, Kuyt and Gerrard were all ready to pounce on flicks/rebounds/bounces and play the 1-2 if needed. Even towards the end of the game you saw Kuyt, Babel and Dossena up front.

For much of the season, we've been too conservative and had Kuyt or Torres isolated up front. It doesn't take a genius to realise that 1 striker, no matter how good they are, is going to struggle against 3 or 4 opposition defenders.

Real Madrid President Vicente Boluda: We Will Beat Liverpool 3-0

As Los Blancos’ form continue to improve in leaps and bounds, their confidence continues to grow and no one has shown that more than the club’s stand-in president.

24 Feb 2009 02:22:01

As Real Madrid prepare to entertain Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16 first leg clash on Wednesday night, club supremo, Vicente Boluda has fired up his charges by predicting a comprehensive victory for the Men In White.

“It will be a great game against Liverpool and I think we will beat them 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu,” he boomed during an interview with Cadena COPE, before going on to add, “In the second leg at Anfield, they will score against us, but we will win 2-1.”

He didn't say we'll win 1-2, but we'll "chorrear" 1-2 in Anfield, which is pretty untranslatable, but would mean something like "winning without much effort and being blatantly superior ".

Hence, the Marca today, talks about a 4-0, and a total chorreo, but coming from Liverpool, that is, they're mocking the Madrid chairman.

Marca wonders if Torres' gesture was mocking a recent gesture of Raul, but rather, I think he just was showing contempt to the Madrid fans showing his back, and showing who he is.

The small headlines say

"Total Physical, Technical, and Tactical bath of Benitez"

"Liverpool humilliated Madrid from min one, to 93"

"Torres and Gerrard, outstanding"

"St Iker avoided an 8-0"

"Mijatovic: We beg the pardon of the fans"

Torres: If the Atletico fans enjoyed the ride, even the better.

I took his celebration the same way.  It was in front of the Real Madrid section wasn't it?  I thought it was great and was great moment for him to finally score against Real on such a big stage.  I also loved his denial of any apology or argument from Heinze, looked like he'd rather pop him in the jaw than let bygones be bygones.  Fire.  Enthusiasm.  I have high hopes that this performance from Torres reignites him and gets him on the roll that we all know is inevitable from him.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

I agree Yank, I was sooo happy for Torres last night when he scored, he must have loved it, hope he's pumped up like that for every game he plays from here on in. Who knows what could happen if we win every game....

I thought he was mocking the Real fans as well, not that I condem it, I thought it was funny.

I always knew Benitez would do it against Spanish oppo, don't believe he's lost against Spanish opposition while at Liverpool, Owzat?

Bring on Barca!!!!!!!!
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Torres's Heel turn and shot at goal was out of this world
a touch of class, and then to do two defenders fall over
still get the ball and wip it into Gerrard... ah ooh what a night .
