Went to watch 'watchmen' last night, right first off I have never read the comics so I understand that some stuff I wouldn't undestand about the film but I was so excited about seeing it, I thought that this would be a dark super heros movie aimed at 18+ audience and with it being a 4/5 star rated movie that it was going to be fantastic, I've got to say I was very let down, I thought that Zach Snyder would have understood that their would be people like myself who have never read the comics and catered for us but instead I spent most of the film wondering what was going on, it's only towards the end you started to get a jist of plot, etc.

I think that many people feel the same as myself, for example people in work today said the same thing and their were a few people who walked out of the screening, I was hoping for something as visually excellent as 300 or at least Sin City with superheroes but it simply wasn't, as regards to superheroes you cant really call them that, they don't have special powers as such apart from Dr Manhattan (who also has a big wang, lol).

All in all I like the film, I'd give it a 3 out of 5 but a low 3 and only because you see Malin Akerman naked (she is gorgeous) and in latex, oh and Carla Gugino  :buttrock

Like you I had never heard of Watchmen, but if there are naked girls it can't be all bad.

Just giving my opinion fella, which is the same as many others :;):

I'd heard of Watchman but never read the comics, you can't tell me that Snyder expected everyone who pays to see the film to be avid comic book reader ???

watchmen is based on a true event - ie: thats what the keane report was about in the USA

vigilantes killing suspected murderers, rapists etc in New York in the 70s i think ??

the guy in the film with the trilby and mask is the true character in the film, but obviously made into a superhero

Watched the movie last night. WAs not bad but didnt hit its high expectations. Plot was okay but could have added more of a cutting edge. Also it was feckin too long...
Decent flick but wouldnt watch it again.

I'm off to see it on Thursday night and I can't wait. I was well into my comics as a kid and i've read Watchmen (it was a 12 part comic that was made into a graphic novel) several times. The guy who wrote the comic (Alan Moore) has always been completely against it being made into a movie, he also wrote V for Vendetta and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen which made it onto the big screen as well.  As a result, I believe Snyder has tried to stay as true to the comic as possible so i think the movie will probably be more popular with the comic buffs and fanboys out there. I'd recommend the comic book to anyone, even if you don't like comics, it's an excellent read.

V for Vendetta was a great film.

It really questioned some of the things that we take for granted e.g. what is terrorism?

Defo recommend it.

Watched it at the flix tonight, absolutely loved it. I think it's a cracking movie. Deffo one for the purists though, it sticks very close to the original storyline (which doesn't fit your typical film plot) so anyone who was a fan of the comic should really enjoy the film. Malin was worth the entry alone! Rorshach has some great moments (had me creased up a few times) and the CGI for Dr.Manhatten is excellent.
