A win, 3 points and a decent performance gainst a team that didnt hav much inspiration. I thought we kept at it ok, and a coupla real good games for benni and masch. Nice to see Ngog hav a better game too.
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

Well it was live on the old sky here for some reason. I like the performance int he second half, we got forward well and it was noiticeable that the confidence levels shot up once we'd scored. What was up with their keeper on the second  I talked him into that one by praising him up.

As for Egg Nog, once he'd scored he showed odd little flashes of abiltiy so hoepfully there's more to come from him. All in all though, a nice little routine win and hopefully wecan get back into the habit from now on.

PS thought Mash ar right back did reasonably well as it goes, apart from that time when he sprinted accross the pitch to foul the guy in the left back slot  :D Enthusiasm is great but you can't really do that from right back.

Good game though from the team and manager. Subs were sensible, Egg Nog was cramping up and I thought Gerrard was very much feeling his way back into it and didn't look fit so it was fair enough.

Some points Yossi MOTM, Mark Halsey hates us, WTF was goin on with Lucas gettin booed comin on? now hes not my fav player but its out of feckin order seriously  :no Never in my life have I heard our own players getting booed comin on the pitch and its not for the first time either.

Would have liked ngog to stay on we where really threatening them but atleast we won have to catch chelsea though get 2nd place.

And to be fair, lucas pops it around the park rather well, when there is no-one pressuring him.....

Nice, good win

Oh aye, its "title chasing chelsea" but it's "Liverpool halted their recent damaging league decline" and "all but blowing their title hopes at middlesbrough" for us

We're on the same points ffs, neither of us has a chance

Good overall performance.

What stood out a mile to me comparing this game to the Boro' game was the wide play.

Insua and Aurelio probably had similar performances but Masch, Benni and Reira were infinately more effective than Skrtle, Babel and El Zhar at the weekend.

The latter three were probably the worst perfomers on Saturday but in stark contrast, the three who played today were arguably our best performers............and what a difference it makes to our play. Even though Sunderland were stubborn and did their best to defend we had a threat about us all game tonight and to me, it all stemmed either directly or indirectly from our wide play.

Just makes it even more frustrating that we effectively rotated ourselves out of a potential 3 points at the weekend as this team would've won comfortably IMO.

Good 3 points though.........bring on Madrid

good result and (more importantly) a good second half performance. Ngog and Benayoun looked bright and the team seemed to play better as the 2nd half went on. Lets hope we can keep this up and at least keep 2nd  :)

I'll try to post more but to be honest I find it hard immidiately after games to post objectively so prefer not too (it's easier tonight as it was calm, straightforward win).
