Fantastic win at madrid. - Could it kickstart our league challenge?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

We do not have the quality in depth. Our first eleven is probably capable of giving any team a run for their money but the squad is threadbare beyond this. It was a great win on Wednesday but Madrid were absolute garbage.... it's like we think we have problems!! The phone in on 5live had many fans singing from the same hymn sheet :the win against Madrid is only papering over cracks; Rafa is seeking to much control; Rafa has brought in some disasterous players; there is misguided loyalty from Rafalites; the Championship should be the priority... basically the same stuff we discuss on here day in day out. It was refreshing to hear more share my rather dim view that Rafa will never bring the one we truly covet- the title.

The problem that we don't have any "first eleven". We have maybe first 4-5, that start regulary, and than the rest, that are used in Rafa's not-really-understandable rotation system.

 Yeah sorry about that everyone. Me starting the thread was the reason we lost.

On a serious note, I still think that we will end up looking back and thinking "if only we could have won eleven out of our last twelve, we'd have won it. We could still do that, but we won't.

We can almost offically declare that we won't win the Premiership this season. Obviously nest season we are going to need to imporve on games where we've dropped points, and maintain our level in games which we've done well.

So far this season, we've beaten Chelsea Home and Away, we've beaten the Mancs at Home, and we drew at the Emirates. I wonder how many people think we'll match that next season.

We'll do them all next season home and away cos we all know next season is our season!  :buttrock
