Ah he won't last long then. Christmas transfer window we'll be listening to offers. If he genuinely is thinking of coming, the best thing that he could do between now and then is stop scoring two goals a game for Oimskint or whatever the feck their called and take up the triathlon.

When someone told him he needed to "hit the ground running" he thought that meant he had to start scoring straight away. Little does he know how wrong he is.

maybe mick but corinthians seem to be doing pretty well with him - plenty of other great strikers have emerged from there so no reason why this guy cantbe the real deal just because lucas isnt floating everyones boat . and rafa doesnt seem to have any probs with torres .

IMHO for many years i dont think we will get another torres.. A striker who could contribute and score consitently would be appriciated.. That could only happen though if rafa is going to change the formation.
Cant remember where i heard this from but heard rafa wanted barry and then keane, stated he wanted to change the system of the team.

  ??        gerrard   macha    barry

             keane    torres

Not 100% sure about this could have just been a rumour...

If we sign him and he comes and is a success, that's the bloke. If on the other hand we sign him and he's sh!t, it's not the one we meant at all FFS. Parry signed the wrong fella.

To my knowledge Rafa did try and buy a striker before the end of the transfer window.
The player in question was Kerrison, a Brazilian forward who has been a sensation in Brazil, his scoring record is approx 50 goals in 65 games.
The only reason the transfer couldn't be completed in time was that 20% of the player is owned by Corinthians and the other 80 by some media imaging group, along similar lines as Macherano and Tevez.
This meant that the paperwork involved in the potential transfer would have delayed it over and above the extra 24 hours that the premier league had granted teams

this is what red 187 wrote in the new striekr thread

and mick you dont have to be cynical about everything .

Look none of us know for sure so it's pointless even discussing it. We didn't sign him, so it's gone now lets look forwards not backwards. Even talking about potential signings is disrespectful to the players we already have.

And who said this bloke would be a success anyway? Would he come here? Could we afford him? How is the passport situation going to get resolved? We don't really know do we?

At that time i think we were interested in heskey but wasnt an offical..

Management just sat throughout the whole month tryin to offload keane.. FFS atleast consider a striker on loan or something..

I think someone posted earlier mate that rafa was trying to get a guy from brazil but there was a problem with him being owned by the club and by a media company so was hard to get everything done by the required time limit . seems the guy is a hot striker in brazil - think it was omsehint like 50 goals in 60 dd games and was the next big thing to come out of brazil . hopefully the deal will still be around in the summer - the price was around 10 mil or something - think heis name was Kerrison .

GYBs whats the guys full name, going to google him..
50 goals in 60 games!!!!!!!!!!! was that for a sunday league??

No idea what his first name is the person who posted is said his name was kerrison or something .

Keirrison de Souza Carneiro. He's owned by Traffic Sports Marketing and 20% by Coritiba. Is on loan to Palmeras at the moment.

He's 20 and was the leading goal scorer in Brazilian series A last season. Has scored 5 goals in 4 games since moving to Pameras.

Now Kuyt might not be signing a new contract

“Rafa told me he wanted to give me a new contract but he wanted to sort out his own contract first and then we’ll see what’s happening.

“I’ve just been trying to focus on the games and not worry too much. Because I’m happy at Liverpool and I enjoy it, I want to stay. I don’t know if my future is linked to the manager, because that depends on what the club wants.

“If the club want to give me a new contract, I’m more than happy to talk about it.

“I’ve never been thinking about whether the manager would go or not. Of course, you want to know who the manager is but I’ve said I want to stay at Liverpool.”

John you're quoting one of my GYBS impressions mate. You know the ones...

"But how do you know that's what he said? how do you know that, were you there, have you read it, have you asked him? Who is? You? who said? Well who's better?

I was just kidding, I didn't mean it literally     :;): Read the whole exchange and you'll see where I'm coming from.
