Is the best post on this thread.

100% correct. Our first 11 on their day is as good as any in the league, but outside that, things are thin. Our bench today proved it. In fact, having El Zahr on the pitch proved it. We need a gluttony of signings in the summer of quality. Do we have the money for it? I don't think so. We may have to settle for two really high class signings and some better quality squad players. Some players will have to be sold off, and I expect players like Lucas, Benayoun, Babel and several fringe players to exit. Honestly, it doesn't matter if the manager is replaced. It won't change the situation for us. In fact, I can only see it worsening if that happens. If Benitez really has maintained that he wanted more control of signings, then lets see if his word is true. If he signs a few lesser unknowns and squad fillers again, well, then I'd advocate that he leaves because he will no longer have this leaning stick of an excuse to fall back upon.

Good post with a lot of truths

Good post ..... you just forgot to mention who's fault it is that the squad is so weak and who bought all the poor players that fill it.

And before you say it , no it wasn't Parry :D

I dont think they were all Rafas first choice signings either mate. And if you want to get Parry in it, maybe if him and that other snake Moores hadnt have gotten the yanks invovled we might have had owners who WOULD have let Rafa get all his first choice signings.

Rafa has spent over £100 million in the last two years, I don't think anyone can complain about how much money he has had.

Net spend? He has had to recoup a lot mate and most of the time can only spend big on 1 player max and has to dish out the rest over the whole squad. Not the same as say Fergie spening 30Mil on 2 strikers, 18Mil on a midfielder, 30 mil on a defender....not the same by a mile.

Fergie's pays for quality whereas rafa pays peanuts for quantity what do you expect

Lets stop the excuses.  It was only a few months ago when people were saying this is the year.  The amount of points we have dropped is not acceptable and another year will not see a change.

Some of our players this season that have given us 10 draws their mentality really needs to be questioned no fight desire or hunger from any fecker today, people can blame Rafa for losing us the title but come on they are earning grands a week and half of them are not fit to wear the shirt never mind have the cheek to be picking up wages.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Mate Riera and the rest were tired or injured. We have to rotate otherwise we they will not be able to play for us in Europe. The problem is the players Rafa brings in to rotate with are :censored:.

Rafa is having to compete with all the rest on a smaller budget and is getting abused imo. Give him the same money as Fergie or Chelsea and then see what happens.

I am not arguing that he has less money to spend than Chelsea or Manu, but still we played against Boro, he hesitates when an urgent change is needed. You can rotate, but give the in form players play at least 30 minutes - if things are not going weel on the pitch - no point in resting players and losing at the same time...

Well Rafa doesnt have that money to pay for quality does he? Not as often anyway. It's always second best or worse signings for us.

Mister. Someone coming to this thread and watching your  :buttrock might think we have won anything today.

Don't be so happy or they might get it wrong about today's result.

Im with Bav on the money issue. We've had a budget every time Rafa has spent whereas Fergie can pick a target and pay whatever he wants to sign him. They can afford to pump £20m in each position, we cant. Rafas trying to sort the sh!t with a budget, its not the same by a mile

I remember when seville said they wanted £12 mil for Alves and we bought Pennant instead.  £12 mil for Alves was a snip.

Yes there is a budget that is smaller than Utd and chelsea's.  But didnt Rafa know this before he joined?  He wasnt told he would have the spending power of those two yet he still came here.
