Fair play to Mourinho though, he predicted man Utd's team (wrongly of course :D ) caused a flare up to slow the game down, made some strange substitutions which actually worked, and got a 0-0 draw against the Mancs with a team which is probably about the equivalent of Man City. They had the better chances too second half, good luck to them in the second leg.

equivalent of mancity ?!

they have some excellent players down there at Inter... the Italian league is not thaaaaat bad Mick ... :Oo:

p.s... i'd have atleast 6 of Inter's players in our starting 11 so theres absolutely no comparing them to mancity in my books...

Id go as far as to say thats Utd through to the QF. Inter were :censored: poor and even in the 2nd half for all their extra willingness they still didnt trouble Van Der Sar nearly as much as they should have.:(

Perhaps Man City was a slight stretch, but I think six of their starting eleven into our team is too Ace. My point is, they're not a terribly good side and wouldn't get into the top four in England IMHO. In that sense, the very fact that Mourinho is able by means fair and foul to make a game of it against the Mancs is to his credit.

ouch... not in the top4 ? comeon mate... and 6 players too many... lets see and please tell me if you think those players would get in our side or not ...

- Maicon - arguably best RB in the world today, him and Alves.

- Chivu - one of the best central defenders around, he'd be a stepup from anything we have and can also play LB no problems.

- Cambiasso - better than Alonso in my books

- Stankovic -  same as above ...  personally i'd take a Cambiasso, Stanko pairing over Alonso, Masch especially given the formation we play...mm..maybe atleast one of them simply because im a huge Alonso fan but still)

- Mancini - wide player ?

- Ibrahimovic - one of the best forwards in the world today.. better than Torres ? arguable ...

Other names i'd have in our starting lineup ahead of what we have here...

-Julio Cesar ? ( personally i think Reina is vastly overrated by our own... hes always troubled from crosses and his timing isnt that great either)
-Walter Samuel (have him over skrtel or Agger any day of the week)
-Patrick Vieira
-Figo
-Adriano

Sorry mate but this has to be the most ridiculous post of the day.

Italian football is at an all time low.  Inter are a good side, but there's no real challenge to them at the moment.  Milan are over the hill, Juve are poor by their standards, the rest aren't worth mentioning.

Inter were beaten home and away by us last season (deservedly) and got a footballing lesson on their own pitch first half by United tonight, before salvaging some pride in the second half.  I'm not saying they wouldn't get in the top 4 in the premiership, but I think they would be scrapping it out to be in there rather than comfortably doing so.

Out of their players I'd have Chivu definitely, Maicon definitely (although best RB in the world?? Going a bit far) and either of their front two tonight to partner Torres.  Although Torres is a cut above both of them imo.  Haven't seen Mancini play in a while so not sure what he's like these days, but none of the rest of them are any better than what we have imo.

Maicon, Chivu, and Ibrahimovich are the only players I would want from Inter.  Stankovich did :censored: all today, Cambiasso played pretty poor too.
