yer like Alves, Simao, SWP, Vidic, Moluda (lucky escape), barry wouldnt have improved our team.

All Parrys fault that we didnt sign these players.

speculation, but if its true its a shame he didn't put his foot down for kuyt, babel, dossena, deggen, gonzalez, josemi, lucas etc etc etc.

I can see a game of tennis developing here....

Good arguments on both sides...

I am happy parry is gone mate, I just don't think him going will solve the problems on the pitch in the slightest, he has nothing to do with the way we play our football. I know some posters will do all they can to divert the football failures away from rafa but I am sure deep down they know the failures on the pitch fall squarely at rafas feet. Next they will blame the owners, then it will be someone else, blame anyone but rafa

Parry going will not make any difference to our football

The Echo normally gets this things right no?

If so, this is great news because Parry going seems promising when it comes Rafa's contract.

Liverpool will announce today that Rick Parry will leave the club at the end of the season.

The chief executive, who has been embroiled in a power struggle with Rafael Benítez, will depart from Anfield, which will represent a massive victory for the manager.

Parry has been negotiating a payoff for the past few weeks.

This development comes at the end of a fraught week for the club during which rumours have circulated that the manager had been dismissed. Benítez has emerged stronger after the Champions League victory over Real Madrid on Wednesday, but the painful politics of Liverpool mean that even today's development does not make the manager's situation palpably clearer.

Parry was known to be an ally of George Gillett Jr, the club's co-owner, but the pair are believed to have fallen out over the stories that surfaced on Wednesday suggesting that Benítez was about to leave the club.

Gillett has found no buyer for his 50 per cent stake, but this latest development opens the door to a change of ownership at Anfield because the co-owner has lost his last ally at the club.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

I wonder who will replace him ? i expect their will be a struggle between Hicks and Gillete about which one of their men come in to replace him but hopefully it will be a football person - as has been suggested before maybe kenny could do some sort of role ?

they got that bit wrong.
Gillett found a buyer 2 weeks ago, they are american, its down to Hicks and they way the money on the loan that the new buyer can not be put in place,
unlike Hicks, Gillett will not talk about his money and new buyers in the press, he feels it puts them off, something Hicks has found out.

things have been very active in this area over the last week, most of it has not been in the press, i get bits from time to time from friend at ML.

this still could take sometime to get sorted and the Rafa thing is still very much up in the air.
again ML told Hicks the club is worth more with Rafa there, Rafa heard this and let it leak that he might walk, he did this to try to get his contract sorted, what he did not think was going to happen was Hick to let it leak that he had asked for another manager to be found if Rafa did walk, this made Rafa come out and say that he will stay at Liverpool.
