Merging threads? - More forum censorship?

I left here last night to get me nut down and there was a hands up if you think Rafa's time is a horse's noise, and a should he stay or go straw poll. There might have been another one as well.

I must confess, I didn't find it overly confusing. You could skip between the threads and it didn't seem to me anyway that there was huge amounts of replication, there was only one poster being abusive, did the problem come after 11pm NZ time?

Then this morning, there is a rumour (which is surely b0ll0cks) that the manager is about to be in charge for the final time. I would think despite the doubtful nature of the internet rumours, people would want to discuss the various nuances. At this time, right in the midst of the most feverish part of the debate, we decide to merge the threads so they become a jumbled mass of nonsense which are unpickable in terms of an argument? Not only that, but we call it "all your Rafa sh!t",   Like the people who have concerns have no right so to do.

It's happened a few times recently, and it seems to me anyway that there is an undercurrent of forum censorship going on. I don't think I've ever complained about the mods befoe, and if there are excellent reasons for this then I apologise in advance, but I think this is not the way to go.

Actually Mick - the Rafa (stay or go) was worth keeping on it's own?

Ruined now.

I definately think it was worth keeping Eff yes. Look, unless someone inadvertantly starts a thread which is an exact replica of one which is already there, it's an unusual move anyway.

Because you don't like the content of a thread, or the direction it is taking is not enough to shut it down or to merge it. It's happened a few times over the last few weeks, and on each occasion although it maybe entirely coincidental there appears to be a desire to close down of one side of the argument.

Calling people's concerns about the way our season is panning out, and the supposed possibility that we might be about to lose our manager of the last five season "Rafa sh!t" just about sums it up really.

I was looking for Dundalk's thread - it was an interesting one; a good snapshot of everyone's opinion at a certain time.

I think the merging was just tidying up the board a bit - it didn't feel like there was anything behind it.

The anti Rafa threads are so over the top I wouldnt merge them, I´d just delete them.

You lot wont be content until we get all Owzat´s stats BEFORE the bl**dy season starts. And then you´ll still be critical.

All this negativity really has to stop lads, it takes away from the enjoyment of the game and being a fan. We´re in 2nd place ffs.

Multiple threads, different titles same subject.

I merged the threads, whats the problem ? none of your gospels were "censored" , they where just thrown into the mix

call yourself an Ex Mod ?

Maybe if you'd stuck with the job things would be different ? , but then again it's easier to throw stones from the sidelines.
