REAL MADRID VS LIVERPOOL - Champions league 1st k/o round

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RUSHIE#9 » Wed Feb 25, 2009 11:00 pm

Not convinced by Rafa's response to the big question. I knew deep down that he wouldn't come out and say it's all bollox I'm not going anywhere. What disappoints me is that he's had a chance to settle the boat to concentrate the media and the fans discussion on team affairs and not boardroom ones but hasn't done so.

I think this is gonna drag on until the summer.  :glare:

the most predictable quote of the night

is it ? oh well - shame is true thou - who is better manager in the cl than rafa ?

just a predictable quote from your ongoing love affair with the boss. pity we are so awful in the prem lately but hey thats the players. tonight it was the manager. im delighted for the club with the win but the liverpooll style of play is so far removed from where this clubs roots are that my joy is tinged with frustration that this will gloss over the need for change.

no tonight it is both the players out there and the manager that deserve and will get the credit .ffs we won against real madrid yet some people still going on about change and cant just relax in the glory of a great win in europe for us . Rafa and the liverpool players just cant win either way these days

as ive already said im delighted with the win but unlike most on here i cant ignore the bigger picture. and im not going to change cause we got a great win. i love this club whole heartedly far too much to gloss over the state of the club. as for people having a go at ronnie whelan for telling the truth of how bad we are is just beyond belief.
shamrock rovers and liverpool are not a matter of life and death to me. they are much more important than that.

Aye..."I want to win the next game"...

That's not really quashing the rumours.

:buttrock

Will be hard for the owners to sack him after that. And even harder after we finish them off at Anfield.

If he is a risk against boro - dont play him - need him fully fit for the return leg - i want number 6 - dont care what other people think about cl not being enough for me the european cup is something liverpool have always prided themselves on and you only have to read the players book to see that . if we cant win the league lets go for the cl . that will more than do it for me .

Yeah me too. And for me this is the only thing we can realistically win this season. But I dont want us to lose 2nd place.

Well, in fairness to Whelan, it wasn't the most exciting game of football for the most part was it?

That depends on how much you like football. If you only like association football, yes, it wasn't exciting.

If you have a broader taste for football, that was a top game.

only going to drag on because of the media and internet rumours - maybe for once we as fans can just ignore the fecking things and concentrate on supporting the man and the players ?

I like the fact that Gerrard isn't playing, he's our best player and we are going to need him hopefully later on. I also like the fact that other than him we've picked our other 10 best players, plus Benayoun. Benayoun deserves to play here, he has been just about our most incisive player over these last few weeks. I've doubted him many times in the past, but credit where it's due he's absolutely playing out of his skin and deserves to start.

Good team though from the manager I think. If we do lose, I don't think it's because of that. I don't think we will though, I think we'll getn home 1-0 (Gerrard, as sub)

Do I get a prize?  :;):

Fecking Rafa  If he'd brought Stevie on earlier I'd have got the scorer as well.

Yeah its the BigMick show after all!
May I remind you that its actually not..its about LFC on here!Ya know that team with the shi'te manager! :D
So what next.? Hark? Real were poor,so were they poor or did we stop them playing from mf?
Did Rafa get it right or was we lucky?

:O Fex sake  :no

I'm like a magnet on here for stalkers and fecking loonies at the moment. Baz, do me a big fat favour and leave me alone fella eh? If you can't take a post in the spirit it was intended, then it's a shame but there you go. There are plenty of people on here for you to train your ascerbic wit and sightful football analysis on, give them a go for a whil will you for once.

I had enough of it two weeks back. Now we've just won a game which is lovely, I'm feeling quite happy, so don't put me on a downer with your bullsh!t, there's a good lad.

Nope sorry, cause you are a self absorbed patronising kunt!
Start another thread about how shi't Rafa is shall we?
Then complain cause the mods spill your toys?
I will remind you again..its an LFC forum!
Not the BigMick show!

Great win tonight, but I didn't know what to think about Rafa's interview. To me he seemed to be implying that he's staying for now but not sure about the future. I can understand he wants to focus on matches but the sooner this contract situation is sorted out the better.

I honestly think we're buggered in the league.  I'm not saying give up, but I wouldn't be risking Torres in a league game if he isn't fully fit.  Once again the CL represents our best chance of a trophy.

Having said that Torres' injury doesn't look bad to me.  Bit of a twisted ankle.  He played on it for the best part of 30 mins after he hurt it, and clearly didn't want to come off.  He's ok.
