WTF is wrong with people??

Whelan is getting as bad as lawro with his constant slagging off rafa and liverpool lately .

Agreed.  I was just thinking the same thing.  Stick Jim Beglin into that category, and Jamie Redknapp - ex-reds who love sticking the boot into the current regime.

Im surprised by Whelan.

We always ground out results years ago.

The FA cup semi final against Portsmouth a few years back is an example. And he played in that one ! We won the replay on penalties. Ahh the ole pot and kettle  :D

Shame he can not do the same in the Prem.

Shocked to see how bad Real was, heard some good things about them in the build up to this game.

Wonder if Rafa will be their manager for the 2nd leg, now that would be a strange thing.

Dont tell me you actually think that whole rumor is true Lakes mate?  :D

you know what, the thing is so crazy i am not sure anymore.

JC just said there nothing in it.

I just heard that too - on Radio5Live (honest!)

:D  :D

but now i just seen Rafa on Sky and its made me think there was something in it, he was just given the chance to say its all :censored: and he is staying yet he did not.

Well, in fairness to Whelan, it wasn't the most exciting game of football for the most part was it?

Tony - I dont care how exciting it was. What a result!

the most predictable quote of the night

is it ? oh well - shame is true thou - who is better manager in the cl than rafa ?

just a predictable quote from your ongoing love affair with the boss. pity we are so awful in the prem lately but hey thats the players. tonight it was the manager. im delighted for the club with the win but the liverpooll style of play is so far removed from where this clubs roots are that my joy is tinged with frustration that this will gloss over the need for change.

no tonight it is both the players out there and the manager that deserve and will get the credit .ffs we won against real madrid yet some people still going on about change and cant just relax in the glory of a great win in europe for us . Rafa and the liverpool players just cant win either way these days

Rafa

"Without Gerrard and then Torres in the second half, we did really well to win the game. There is no part of me that is thinking of walking away from Liverpool. I want to concentrate on the important games, I was in contact with the owners today and we'll speak again soon."

Oh Absolutely.

Madrid won't win at Anfield and Liverpool have a precious away goal. A lot of European teams are scared to come to Anfield because of Liverpool's history.

It'll take a disaster for us not to go through.

This never ends does it.  :D Could be Rafa just winding the press up. At the end of the day he knows what he wants to do and hopefully the players do. What the papers thing doesnt count for :censored: so let him wind them up if he wants. (I hope that is what it is)
