Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Masch is a great player he's just having a dip in form and looks exhausted ,but in the closing stages of the season he will be hitting his peak form, which is a definite plus .
On the subject of possible right backs ,Ryan Taylor would be a great right back for the Reds and he's a Scouser like Carra ,plus he's a real talent going forward .

oh :censored: ...

here we go again. This forum never ceases to amaze me. Always find a way to moan at someone who's more than doing his job consistently.

And all because, Sabre brought up the thread :D

I expected less criticism, and more praises to be honest.

I guess you're right about the mood changes from one season to another (the bit you mentioned in page 2)

Mascharano is one of my favourite players as is Carra, like Carra Mascha hasnt been plauded that much this season. And again, like Carra, Mascha just gets on with his job without making to much of a fuss, he's what Carra is to our defence, but in Midfield, a rock.

He gives the team great balance and allows the likes of Gerrard, Riera, Kuyt, Babel, Benayoun and even Alonso as seen recently to mauraude forward. He's not the type of player to win you matches from midfield ala Gerrard, but he's the type of player who can stop you loosing matches from midfield.

Tactically if Alonso can free himself up a bit more and add to the attack more often, like some of us have been saying on here for years. Even more so now that we have the little Argey to cover him, not only will we be solid in defence but a little more threatening in attack.

In the words of a Scouser, Mascha is Boss !

hmm there is a bit of difference between a midfielder not being prolific and a CB though, isn't there?
In my opinion Mascherano is a terrific midfielder but I wouldn't mind a few more goals form him but at least he's been having a few more shots at goal lately.

He never scores? Neither did Makalele and the world and his dog raved about him (Me too). Yet, i honestly believe that when Mascha is at top form he is better than makalele ever was!!!

He's a very mobile player who can run with the ball also. His form this season has been patchy, but i put that down to Olympics and not having a rest or a proper pre-season. just lately, we have started to see the little Theif. I know they call him the little chief, but, for me he's our little thief due to him constantly stealing the ball away from oponents.

Apart from gerrard and carra, i have never seen a player at our club who chases around so much when he has lost the possesion.

The lad for me should a mainstay of this great club for many years to come. A future captain? ???

Masch at his best isn't as good as Makelele at his best.  Masch still needs more maturation in his game and he needs to decrease his giveaways.  I think he has the potential to turn out better than Makelele but he isn't quite there yet.  Masch at his best is him running around winning the ball back with great tackles.  Makelele at his best could control a game ala Alonso, although not quite at the level of Xabi on the attack.

i disagree. Makalele was not a controller of the midfield. He held it together like mascharano. At madrid, redondo first, then zizou and guti etc. At chelsea lamps controlled it. For france, zizou again and viera. Mascha is very similar to makalele, but for me, his aggression and tackling purity edge it for me.

But, thats why this is a discussion forum and not a bitching website:O
