Michael is still a class act who was suffering at Liverpool due to a lack of service in his final two seasons. I really do believe he will show everyone at Madrid that is is still one of the best strikers in the world. The service he so badly needs will be provided. I hope he does well over there because he is still representing Liverpool to me in a way.

Yes im in the other half or so that hopes Michael will do well! Its too hard to dislike Michael after all the golden moments he gave and wonderful goals. Him leaving was hard to take but is probably the best thing for us now. The two goals in the fa cup against Arsenal were priceless and i'll never forget them. But its time to move on under Rafa.

Michael does love the club but saw them going in the wrong direction for the past two seasons. Without a doubt id think he would have stayed if the club was as succesful as Arsenal and there are no guarantees that they will be under Rafa. He wants to be winning things and playing in the best teams so good luck to him. Once Cisse and Baros start gelling we wont miss him so much.

Owen is slightly past his best. It remains to be seen if he can develop any new qualities that will allow his game to mature. Its hard to see him dropping back into a mid-field role where pace is less important. I fear he is losing his acceleration and turning ability. It would be good to see him return to Anfield - The prodigal son and all that - but I doubt that he will be able to live up to his old standards and we will all be disapointed. My only regret is that we only received £8m for him, pretty small beer really.??? ???

Its hard to understand it when people say he's past his best. Yes that yard of pace has gone since the early days but to say he's past his best when for the last two seasons he has been starved of chances and not had a regular strike partner is very unfair. You could see that his heart wasnt in it in his last two seasons and it all affected his game. The time to judge Michael will start tomorrow evening (provided he starts) for Real.

He may be past his best, but he is still damm good. Just a pity we have not exactly been cooking on gas for the last two seasons to see him at is best. Houllier has a lot to answer for, or was it Tommo ? ??? ???
