I'd much rather have Paul Jewell than Sammy Lee, wasn't there a plan to appoint him as assistant to Rafa last season but Rafa said NO?

??? was there ?? says who ? the media - would take sammy lee over paul jewell every day of the week . sammy knows the club inside and out . The is no viable reason why anyone would prefer jewell over sammy lee.

You mean apart from Sammy's less than glittering managerial record at Bolton ?
I don't rate Sammy at all, although it is good for Rafa to have a yes man I suppose, to massage his ego.

Sammy is at Liverpool as an assitant - the same role he filled for many years before when we were succesful and the same role while part of an england set up - so as assistant managers goes sammy is far more qualified than Jewell . And there is no way sammy should be judged on what happened at Bolton . Suggest you read a few of the players book and thompsons and rushes and dalglishes book and you will see how highly sammy lee is regarded by both players and managers at liverpool football club .

Eh?? Why should he not be judged on his time at Bolton or is it an inconvenient truth that does fit into your hero worship??

BTW didn't Rafa initially boot him out as soon as he took over at Liverpool, how have you managed to forgive Rafa for that?

Cause he was a manager at bolton for a very short time and didnt really get given a fair go and this is talking about him being an assistant manager not a manager .

And When Rafa arrived Sammy was going to go full time for england so went to work for them . Rafa brought his own staff with him which is only natural hence why thommo also left . So there is no forgiving to be done .

And has for hero worshipping Sammy is a legend at the club both as a player and as a coach and assitant manager and have proven to be such . You dont get many more people as passionate about liverpool and wanting liverpool to succeed more than sammy lee and spending even just 5 minutes in his company will tell you that . Be careful about having pops at people like sammy lee .

Are you a politician or something, the way you can spin things is worthy of that c&nt who worked for Blair.

Sammy took the England job because he was booted out of Liverpool, are you suggesting he had already resigned before Rafa arrived?

He had long enough at Bolton to turn a team that was very strong under Big Sam into a complete shower of :censored: which was plummeting towards relegation.

I meant really if Sammy Lee was to leave I think Jewell would be a good replacement, with a view to becoming manager one day.

yes i am suggesting that he took the england job cause it is stated in Thommos book of that actual fact . And a new manager bringing in his own staff doesnt mean the people that have to leave are poor - it means that the new manager wants to work with people he has worked before . Managers need at least a season to see what happens not 4 months

Hiemdell , Sammy has been known as one of the best coaches in the game for years, im not saying manager im saying coach he isvery highly respected for that. Dont forget when Rafa came he brought his own coaching staff an methods, so of course there was gonna be a clear out, Paul Jewell is nowhere near the level of coach that Sammy Lee is, an i like Jewell an all but to say he is a better coach than Sammy is way off the mark

One can understand when a member gets some numbers about our team and says he's worried.

Or when a member thinks that rotation policy harms us, and explains verbosely why. That's the kind of thing we come to discuss here.

One can even understand that the love for a club can lead to impatience when we haven't won any title in the last two years.

All these things are reasonable.

But, that sentence of yours? based on what do you say cheaply that Rafa needs a yes man to feed his ego? Why should I accept that insult to Sammy Lee. Sammy Lee knows the club, and the values of the club, only for that he can be useful to Rafa.

Oh, don't tell me, it was a joke. If it was, you should know that the fúcking same joke every day gets weary.

Huimdell, you're so desperate to see the manager out, that you make up your own stories in your mind about the manager. A yes man. Bloody hell.

I know mate it gets me as well.Theres a few on here who seem to think that its the assistants job to tell the manager how to do his otherwise he`s a yes man.
Fkin rediculous, Sammy is an asset to us.

In fairness to Hemdall, he's only voicing what some of us have commented on before in terms of Sammy appearing to be a little bit brown nosey in interviews. That's all I've meant when I've commented on it before, and I really do think that once again people are being a tad over sensitive.

The simple facts of the matter are that since he's came we have done better in the league than we did previously. Now whether that's down to him, me, you, the reduction in rotation at the start of the season or whatever else, none of us will ever know. On the face of it though, he appears to be doing a good job.
