Well you must have forgotten somebody, because the "any others" column is in the lead. Now I wonder who it could be  ???

Doesn't Carra rate him as a coach tho? Therefore he would put those feeling aside for the good of the club, as mourinhio is clearly a good manager and would be as good an optioin as anyone. He did a good job at chelsea, yes he had a strong team, but as Scolari has shown it isn't an easy job to get right... He has continued good form at Inter and he won the european cup with Porto, a lesser team.

This doesn't mean i want him tho, id rather have Rafa. But the thread is about if and who.

Hiddink begins talks with Chelsea

Hiddink was manager of PSV Eindhoven and Australia in 2005
Russia manager Guus Hiddink says he has been approached to take over as Chelsea manager until the end of the season.

The west London club made a move for the Dutchman after sacking Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari on Monday.

Hiddink, 62, who has close links with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, said: "If it was any other club my answer would be a straight 'No'.

"But Chelsea is different because I have good relations with the owner. I would like to help them if I could."

However, Hiddink stressed he will not be relinquishing his duties with Russia and is fully committed to helping the team qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

"This would only be for the next two or three months until the end of the season," he said.

"I will not leave my job with the Russian national team. It's out of the question.  606: DEBATE
I have to say Hiddink's a master

kevybhoy27

"When I took the Russia job it was a long-term project and I don't like to leave it unfinished."

Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins is in temporary charge of the team until a replacement can be found.

Hiddink has the extensive club and international experience Abramovich is searching for having coached PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid as well as the Netherlands, South Korea and Australia over a 27-year period.

And he insists juggling both club and international commitments would not be a problem having previously combined both duties in the past.

"I have already done that a couple of years ago when I was coaching Australia and PSV, so I'm familiar with the situation and what it takes," said Hiddink, who is in Turkey for a training camp with the Russia squad.

Billionaire Abramovich played an instrumental role in employing Hiddink as Russia manager in 2006.

Hiddink was among a host of names linked with the vacant Stamford Bridge job after the surprising dismissal of World Cup-winning coach Scolari.

can maybe discount Hiddink now .

Idiots 2nd in league which we all say would be good if rafa could do that first season in league cup final and CL final all in first year pretty good really if he was a bit more lucky would could be talking about him getting the treble.

Idiots no I don't think so.

He is a good manager just wasted at a sh.it club like chavski.

Avram Grant did an excellent job at Chelsea to be fair. He is the shining light which disproves the theory which often gets bandied about that "there's nobody else". Nobody had ever heard of him, and with a different bounce of the ball he could have won the Champions League and the Premiership in his first season.

I can't help thinking there is someone who's name should be on the poll though, there's lots of votes for "any others". My guess is if that person was in there (whoever it is) then they may have actually got more than the 29% of votes that segment did get. Many people will simply have voted for a name that's there, rather than considering a name which wasn't. I would have voted, but it seems like the choices are incomplete to me :;): .

Rafa won't get sack because to sack him , we need to pay him and we have no more money. But doesn't mean he will be with us next season. He need to earn it by winning the PL (at least). If he don't win, the owners won't renew his contract.

I agree if that name was there it would be around 70% of votes but the name isn't there so we ca really never know.

I think mick you should make new poll with the name there and see what happens you never know you might be proven right.  :eyebrow

John Barnes eyes club return
Former Celtic chief considers options

Jamaica coach John Barnes admits he is keen to try his hand at club management once again.

Former England international Barnes took charge of Jamaica - where he was born - in November.

But Barnes admits that he is still thinking about returning to club management.

His only previous experiences at club level came during an ill-fated spell at Celtic some nine years ago.

"The reality of the situation is that I am with Jamaica until June, hopefully if we win matches, but the reality of the situation is that if something comes up then I would have to examine it definitely," he told Sky Sports News.

Barnes admits the recent sacking by Chelsea of Luiz Felipe Scolari shows how fickle things can be at club level.

"The worry is that someone like Scolari can be sacked after four to five months, so if someone like him isn't given enough time what chance does a first-time, inexperienced manager have," he said.

Barnes is currently concentrating on his duties with Jamaica as he prepares his side for a friendly with Nigeria on Wednesday at Millwall.

But he admits sometimes expectation levels on the Reggae Boyz, who cannot qualify for the 2010 World Cup, is too high.

"People in Jamaica expect us to win the World Cup because Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world, and now the West Indies have also beaten England - but we have to be realistic we are 65th in the world but I have confidence in what we can do," he added

Is all this because I started a thread in Premiership general discussion where I looked at Mourinho's record? Suddenly I "love" him? There's only one person round here who "loves" managers mate, it isn't me and the loved one isn't Mourinho either  :D.

Perhaps that was the bloke who everyone was thinking of when they voted "others", what do you reckon? There must be somebody because it's still in the lead.

I know some on the forum would have you believe there simply is nobody else, but some people obviously think there is and whoever it is/was isn't in your poll. For my part I think it's disrespectful to get involved in such things at this stage. If Rafa was to leave, the bloke I'd vote for isn't up there and in any case I don't think you should be holding votes as I say.

All that said, if you get five minutes to check out the thread in Premiership general discussion, Mourinho's record is pretty good it has to be said. He simply must be the "other" that everyones voting for, got to be.

The amazing thing to me is that you picked out 8 possibilities and didn't include the only manager other than Ferguson and Wenger who has won the Premiership in the last 10 years :D That must be the one they're all voting for, I can't think of anyone else.
