even so, according to the wisecracks of some on here he plays every game. If we hadn't been so lacking in the game then he wouldn't have come on.

Then he would of got a nice long rest - but in some ways its good they all came on just to keep their sharpness up .

Kuyt did well Sat, he needs to add more goals to his game and practice his crosses though. Always gives his all and you have to respect him for that.

Did more in the time he was on than most did in near twice the length of time before he came on

Very true indeed Owzat - thought the team were doing well up until it hit the front two of babel and Ngog. Babel just has no confidence at all and Ngog just looks very raw but was more positive than babel

I think Kuyt is a decent enough striker... you can see that by the way he shoots on goal, alot of times it's on target and he has good strength and pace in his shots... if given the time and space he can score lots of goals just like he did in Holland... problem is in the EPL he doesn't have time and space... he reminds me of someone like kevin phillips...

I think Kuyt is one of our best players. He runs up and down the pitch constantly for us and does so in every match. He can also score like he did vs Pompy so i reckon he would be better on the right wing but a decent striker.

When Phillips was younger I think he was twice the striker Kuyt is. A really good player I thought.

Dirks goal on Satrday doesn't alter the fact that he isn't good enough as a striker IMHO. I hope his blistering smash through a crowd of bodies doesn't simply serve to erase the painful memories of all his other appearances up front. He belongs on the right and he's decent there, he ain't no striker though, and proving it over a three or four game spell is a luxury we can't afford right now.

yes he hasnt had the best run of form but that in that twenty minute speel he did more up front that pretty much the rest of the strikers this season bar torres .

I know S@int, year five of the five year plan and it's a straight tussle between N'Gog, Kuyt and Babel for our number two striker slot. Despite people getting all hot under the collar, it really is a frightening situation.

I don't buy this "we haven't got the money" angle either. I think it's more of a "we haven't got the coherent plan" problem myself.

When you look at it, is Milan Baros a better striker than N'Gog, Babel or Kuyt? IMHO he probably is yes. Is Djibril Cisse better than the three of them? IMHO probably yes. Is Craig Bellamy better than the three of them? Absolutely definately without any question yes. Is Robbie Keane better (as a striker GYBS, steady now)? of course he is. And what about Peter Crouch? Is he a better striker than any of Kuyt, N'Gog or Babel? Just a fraction I think he is yes (sarcy smilie needed).

So to arrive at a situation where Dirk is our second best striker is not just a travesty, it's a travesty entirely of our own making.

Look. Rather than making a completely daft interjection which is absolutely meaningless, why not actually address the post. All players since the begining of time leave clubs for a number of reasons. It's a statement of the glaringly obvious akin to at the end of the day it gets dark.

No player has ever left any club for no reason.

That comment was you at your worst GYBS, smothering any debate like a fire blanket with no doubt the first of a succession of one line nonsenses.

If you haven't got anything to add to it, leve it for ten minutes until you've thought of something FFS.
