Wenger didnt need 5 years though did he.  Is it the case now that no matter who managed LFC it would take at least 5 years to mount a serious challenge for the title?  I cant accept that.

Well according to GYBS it didn't take Rafa that long of course but then he trusts Rafa and in his little dream world Rafa is the greatest manager of all time who never ever makes a mistake, well at least not one that can't in some convoluted way be blamed on Parry or the owners.  :D

But arent we in the middle of a serious challenge right now ?

Yes wenger did it in his second year after getting some very good buys like veira anelka overmars petit on top of what was already a extremely good squad which included players like seaman, adams, keown, winterbrun, dixon, berkamp, wright and parlour . where as rafa started with what ? carra gerrard and sami ?

It's the only thing keeping him (Rafa) in a job.

Over one hundred and fifty million spent and we are only now putting in a serious title challenge, which Benitez is in danger of sabotaging, if he hasn't done so already.

Remind me, how did we do in the league last season, £200million pounds and 50 players later ?

Am I eddie the eagle? Can you explain that one to me please, it might be really really funny but I just don't get it. :lookaround

Your posts are the most blinkered, blind devotion, pro rafa of anybody on this forum, if you can't see that then you really do have issues.

Yes are in a challenge but the point is if Rafa was to go and someone else came in nest season it does not mean that we wouldnt be able to sustain a challenge in a new manager's 1st or 2nd season.

We probably would if the likes of Torres, Mascherano, Alonso, Reina do not up sticks and leave.

Why would they go?  If the right Manager was brought in players wouldnt be eager to leave.

Jose left chelsea and how many of his signings demanded to be sold?

Money was enough to keep Chelsea's players at Chelsea. However, Frank Lampard and Drogba considered leaving. I get the sense that Benitez was added motivation to sign us for us, especially from the Spanish contingent.

I would love to see Rjikaard here.  :buttrock

Great, let's hope he stays and signs another few "kwalitee" players who "can create shanses"....just like Josemi, Gonzalez, Morientes.....

Good grief.....
